If you're visiting Milan and want to find a place, off the beaten path, where the locals eat, has great food and is far from the touristic areas, then this is the place.
I was lucky to have a friend in Milan that took me here. It's about a 30 minute drive away from the city and upon arriving I realized I was really in a local place. People looked at us like maybe they thought we were lost as I don't think they get many tourists here.
After sitting down, my friend ordered a jar of their house wine, which was a white wine with a little bit of sparking to it and some dishes.
First of all, their portions are huge, which is not the norm in Italy, so whatever you order, get the smallest portion which can still feed about 3 people.
We ordered the mussels, the seafood pasta and a rice dish which I don't remember the name and everything was so fresh and good. I think this is one of the best meals I have ever had.
Afterwards we ordered limonchelo to help us digest the food. Be careful, it's easy to drink and very easy to make you drunk.
Last advice, don't put Parmesan cheese on seafood pasta. In America we put Parmesan cheese on every pasta, but doing it in Italy will get you some bad looks. 😂
