What an experience!!!! We don't know where to begin.
Our server Luca, his cousin Andrea, and Chef Massimo exceeded our expectations beyond compare.
We were a group of four. We hadn't expected to encounter this wonderful place but came upon it as we drove through Tuscany. The inviting exterior caused a hitting of the brakes and suddenly we were parking.
Two in our group ordered the Lunch/Wine Tasting. That is 2-3 courses of food along with 10 (yes TEN!) wines. One ordered risotto. The last of us ordered the Light Lunch/Wine Tasting which included an antipasti plus pasta of the day and tasting of 5 wines. The lasagna was the most elegant, soft, and delicious lasagna one could ever enjoy. We couldn't describe any more clearly how much it was enjoyed. Even better than the most delicious food was the staff, mentioned above. The Italian culture is most welcoming and we couldn't have felt it more. At one point the chef joined us at the table for a sip of excellent wine. Bravissimo!
At one point through our meal/tasting the staff was preparing for a tour group of 50 Germans to enjoy their own tasting. The restaurant was most accommodating in that we had not finished and yet they allowed us to complete our full experience without any rush. It ended up being rather humorous that we seemed like entertainment to the tour group as they observed us tremendously enjoying our wine and the entire experience.
We unexpectedly enjoyed a bravo moment when we were surprised to receive 2 desserts. Tiramusu and chocolate mousse. The perfect finish to a perfect meal!
Do not pass by this place!!! We literally spent 3, maybe 4 (?) hours at this place and we loved...
Read moreWe came for a cooking class today for a party of six. It was such a fantastic experience. The chef Massimo was extremely knowledgeable and taught us how to make gelato, three different pasta sauces and four types of pasta, all from scratch. We learned so much today and will be bringing back these skills when we return. Another great thing about this cooking experience was that nothing required a machine. Chef Massimo taught us everything using common supplies at home, we didn’t need the fancy pasta roller or an ice cream machine to make gelato.
Then after the cooking class, we did the wine tasting... we were all floored by the five different types of wines we tried... all made by them. Sylvia taught us how to taste and smell wine, a wonderful experience. The wine was so good, we had to order a case back to Canada. Also, get the truffle olive oil, it was so good, not like any other truffle olive oil we ever had.
After that, we ate the food we made. Chef Massimo also gave us a Bolognese that he had cooked for 8 hours and it was so good. The tiramisu was the best we have had in Italy before as well.
If you ever come close to here, please make it a point to stop, you will be blown away by the food, the wine, and the hospitality by the staff. They went above and beyond for my family and ensured we had a memorable experience. It will be very hard to try and top this restaurant and experience after coming here. Thank you to chef Massimo, Sylvia, and all the chefs...
Read moreOur lunch was a comedy or errors. As we were ordering, the server answered his cell phone and had a conversation with his boss, who either didn’t know or care that he was with customers. Our “no meat” bruschetta came out covered in meat, because he forgot to tell the chef. He then forgot my wife’s cappuccino. We gave up trying to order dessert. Our 7 month old baby was charged a service charge, which is a first in Italy. He did break a plate and cup by mistake which we felt bad about, hence two stars instead of one. The lasagna and Tuscan soup were excellent, but the chicken was over cooked. Three weeks in Italy and this was the only meal we didn’t love. Perhaps an off-day as most reviews...
