Bar Cè — Restaurant in Poggio Catino

Monte Catino is a beautiful place to visit. Unfortunatly, my family and I hadn't the best experience at the bar. We were at the bar some minutes before 9 pm, I saw tables empty and dirty and asked if we could seat at that table. The response was amazing. We couldn't sat there and we couldn't ask for anything to eat because they were full and we had to wait for a long time. We could only have a wine, one coke, two icecreams (that took 1 hour waiting to be served) and a little pot with patatines. The staff was very rude, they didn't make us feel comfortable at all. I have to say that we even felt discriminate. I understand that Italians are passionate but in this case the rudeness is fatal. Finally, after waiting for 2 hours, we sat at the table that was empty and we could eat a pizza and a pinsa given to us in a cardboard box for deliveries. Of course, we eat them there with our hands because we didn't get cuttlery or a knife to cut the meal. Of course, the staff never said anything to us or asked if we needed something eventhough we paid for everything in a respectful maner. As other reviewers indicate, the rudeness of the owner knows no bounds. We bring all of our friends here visiting from abroad, and we will no longer do so. She literally goes around screaming and complaining about the “foreigners” whilst serving food. She herself, is too stupid to know we all speak Italian and live in the area. This is Europe. Orgoglio e vanto di un paesino piccolissimo come Poggio catino (ed anzi della sottostante frazione di catino) da tempo è andato oltre la originaria impostazione del bar di un piccolo paese del reatino diventando prima una rinomata gelateria e poi una pizzeria con delle specialità come la pinsa Romana che per primo ha portato, una cucina tradizionale ma impeccabile, ed è corredato da un gazebo e tavolini lungo lo splendido Belvedere di Catino che permettono di mangiare degli ottimi stringozzi alla carbonara o all'amatriciana guardando lo spettacolo del panorama che si spinge fino al Soratte. Vale la pena di raggiungere Catino (in specie d'estate, ma secondo me tutto l'anno) per passare un pranzo nel modo più piacevole e per godere di questo borgo incantevole. Con dei prezzi contenuti si può passare momenti veramente piacevoli, soddisfacendo il nostro senso estetico sia attraverso la vista che attraverso il palato. Ovviamente non c'è da attendersi una cucina da chef, particolarmente variata o ricette estrose, ma i pochi piatti sul menù sono cucinati in modo che a mio parere è più che gradevole.
