Giordanchefs - Ristorante Il Borgo in Colognole — Restaurant in Pontassieve

Chefs Ana and Orlando are truly amazing! Il Borgo is colocated with the Colognole Country Wine Estate, an hour north-east of Florence in the Tuscan hills, adding great views to the overall experience. The restaurant has limited seating so reservations are required. We had the seven course tasting menu, which truly reflects the personality and passion of both chefs. Every dish was unique, made from high quality and fresh ingredients. Chef Ana explained the inspiration behind each dish as it was served, so we could experience the flavors of each dish from the chef's perspective. I have dined at many Michelin star restaurants (from 1-3 stars) around the world and every part of this experience surpassed them all. From the first bite to the last, I was in food heaven! If I could give more than 5 stars I would for sure. We lived in Agriturismo, and eat in this restaurant 3 dinners, which were absolutely fantastic. The place is beautiful, the views are magic. Service is like you are at some closest friend’s home not in the restaurant. The waitress Annalisa, is true hostess, not just a waiter for sure. She will take care of you, explain everything, talk about everything and smile all the way. The chef Orlando is also very heartwarming person and for sure very talented, he treats his guests and his employees like you are his family, and that’s something exceptional. And of course the food is special, great quality(chef chooses the products himself) and looks like in Michelin restaurant. Hope to come...

This restaurant is located in a small Tuscan town outside of Florence. We loved the 7 course tasting menu. The menu was well thought out and the food was so fresh and perfectly prepared. This restaurant would be great for a date night, to have a family dinner, for a girls trip (the restaurant sits on a vineyard, where they produce their own wine and olive oil, it also has a hotel and a pool), and everything in between.
