Podere Belvedere Tuscany — Restaurant in Pontassieve

We‘ve been to this restaurant right at the beginning of our vacation in Tuscany and it was absolutely amazing.

First the place itself: The view from the terrace is extraordinary especially while you see the sun slowly going down above the hills. There’s probably no better place for calming down and relaxing while eating a superb menu.

Second the food: To keep it short…We barely ever ate that good in any other restaurant. The eight-course-menu we had is - in my opinion - at least worth one Michelin-Star since it was not only super tasteful but also creative. We also really like the concept of the restaurant to use as much ingredients produced on the own ground as possible. Further some of the courses were finished right in front of our eyes on the table. If you are not only searching for a place with good food but also an evening that’s an event than you’re absolutely right here.

Last but not least the chef and his wife: Both (as well as all the other staff working in this restaurant) are really kind people who care about their guests. It was especially interesting hearing the chef Edoardo Tilli himself explaining his ideas behind his eight-course-menu to us at the end of the evening.

I took some time before giving this review, after my second visit at Podere Belvedere one year apart from the previous one, I had no choice but admitting that this place is truly amazing. The focus is, of course, the outstanding care that the chef dedicates to the knowledge of meat. Everywhere else you’d find just the typical “Fiorentina” steak and usual Tuscan dishes. Here, the attention to variety, maturation of the cuts and sustainability in terms of quality and proximity of the suppliers chosen is unbelievably rare and precious. C'è una porta...|Non è una porta come tutte le porte qualsiasi.|È una porta come se ne vedono nei film, quelli magigi sai.. come Narnia!! |Quella bimba che apre quel armadio e si ritrova catapultata in un mondo fantastico e con personaggi meravigliosi. Ecco!! Varcando quella porta arriva Klodiana Claudia Karafilaj Che ti accompagna in un viaggio, in un mondo rustico ma elegante, delicato e accogliente. Guida come un pazzo.. lui è un mix tra il fascino di Christian Grey, la follia del cappellaio matto, ci vedo un po si Hannibal lecter per l'istinto primordiale e Nello stesso tempo ti prendi a schiaffi ma con la delicatezza di Bud Spencer.
