Ristorante Artemide — Restaurant in Pontassieve

Quality of the food here was very high. However our meal was spoiled by a misunderstanding on the number of dishes we wanted. We were 5 people but 2 young teenagers and one 83 year old grandmother we asked for 1 of each of 2 different pasta dishes to share (This was after a 2 person portion of the house antipasti misti) and we ordered two secondi piatti again to share. Already plenty food for lunch and the crew that we were. Sadly the kitchen decided to send 3x one of the pasta dishes and 2x the other, we had no input into which was which. We had to ask them to cancel the secondi and had to argue the bill (which had the 5x pasta dishes at the wrong higher price!)... to be fair they eventually sorted the bill to our satisfaction. The food was very good however our experience was overall negative due to the mix up which seemed odd as we order like this a lot in Italy and it works out as...

Esperienza molto positiva da Artemide.

Location molto interessante, praticamente in mezzo al nulla, ma comunque a circa 30 minuti da Firenze. Campagna circostante bella, favolosa la strada che porta al ristorante. Situazione parcheggio a malapena decente; pochi posti disponibili considerando la quantità di gente che frequenta questo ristorante - abbiamo dovuto parcheggiare davanti a un cancello, anche perché sulla strada del ristorante non c’è posto per mettersi al lato.

Parliamo della cena in sé - “antipastone di noialtri” veramente favoloso, dagli affettati, alla pappa al pomodoro, al paté, e finalmente ai formaggi e confettura. Veramente spettacolare. Bistecca alla Fiorentina di apparenza eccezionale, ottima porzione - ma purtroppo leggermente troppo cruda a parere del mio tavolo, mancava veramente 1 minuto in più, e ciò ha un pochino rovinato cos’era una carne di eccezionale qualità. Peccato, anche perché dalla recensioni e le foto viste qui su Google, avevo un’aspettativa veramente alta. Contorni favolosi, mi è piaciuta l’idea del “icche c’ha offerto il raccolto odierno” e devo dire patate veramente buone. Dolce al pan di Spagna buono, peccato non era disponibile la panna cotta.

Atmosfera molto calda, particolarmente nelle serate d’inverno - posto disponibili dentro e in una veranda riscaldata all’esterno, la consiglio altamente. Ottimo servizio, camerieri relativamente veloci. Prezzo senza vino €50 a testa, mi sembra un po’ sopra la media della zona ma tuttavia penso sia un buon compromesso, l’unica cosa da notare avevamo preso solo 1 dolce, per questo mi sembrava un po’ tantino.

Ultima cosa - cambiate il POS! Ha dato problemi a tutte le carte del mio tavolo, sicuramente ha qualche difetto. Abbiamo dovuto pagare varie volte per poi richiedere il rimborso alla banca.

The place is lost in a nice location on the hills. Nice garden. It seems this restaurant has a very good reputation. The food is ok but we were not excited about it. Maybe we did not chose the best of the days (wild boar was over cooked). Service pays attention. They have nice home made bread. On the antipasti plate, some food was really great. For the main dish a bit more standard. Would need to go there a second time to have another feeling. Definitely an ok place but we did not see the same enthusiasm as most of the comments we read on...
