We had the most special evening with our whole family here! The owners opened up the restaurant just for us on a Saturday evening when nobody else was booked! The food was spectacular! Top quality, exquisite presentation of the food, seasonal ingredients and recipes, and a sense of deep respect for the food and for people! Owners don’t speak much English, so come prepared knowing at least the basics of Italian! The owners were so grateful we spoke Italian and came from all over the world to their beautiful restaurant in Ponzone they gave us a free bottle of their home-made rose syrup! Delicious! Penso sia un ristorante divisivo, nel senso che o piace o non piace. L'arredo è quantomeno istrionico (il pavimento è meraviglioso) con tavoli e sedie che denotano un cambiamento di tavolo in tavolo. Il bagno meriterebbe un capitolo a sé in quanto si discosta dalla sala principale per totale mancanza di cura e parzialmente di pulizia. Ho trovato il servizio un po' invadente con questa continua ricerca di dialogo con i clienti (eravamo in soli due tavoli) e a tratti impreparato: se non si conosce il mondo del vino, meglio non azzardare affermazioni che poi tornano indietro come un boomerang: il Barbaresco è una cosa, il Bramaterra un'altra. Carta dei vini inesistente, però c'è un bancone con tutti i prodotti esposti: nulla di particolarmente interessante, ci si deve accontentare, mi sembra non ci sia nessuno champagne o comunque nessuna bollicina. Nessuna carta secondaria con prodotti un po' più ricercati. I due tavoli con whisky, rum e distillati vari, sono certamente più interessanti. Alcuni piatti eccellenti, come la battuta con uovo marinato e il maialino con salsa bbq, altri direi riusciti male, come gli spaghettoni al sugo di bietole con peperoncino e zenzero (straconditi e con lo zenzero elemento più di disturbo che di complemento) e la panna cotta con i fiori di sambuco, nel senso che i fiori sono inglobati dentro e risultano fastidiosi alla masticazione. Considerando tutto, ho trovato il costo finale leggermente alto. NB: accertarsi prima che il pos sia funzionante!
