O' Purtus — Restaurant in Portici

I was in Naples with my family on vacation. Which was a bit of a nightmare because we had a car. But we found a parking lot near this restaurant.

The parking attendant said he knew of a good restaurant and brought us to this establishment.

I don't think the restaurant was open. We were there at about 3pm-ish, after searching for parking in the city for over an hour. But the attendant said something to the woman inside, and she let us in. I don't know what was said as I don't speak Italian.

It would have been better if she had just denied us entry. She was clearly not happy to serve us. The food was mediocre, and I'm not sure if it was because they were not happy that we were there. The woman was on the phone while she was serving us. Clearly, we were an annoyance to her. It was quite possibly the worst service I have received at any restaurant, ever.

I would not suggest this restaurant to anyone. Even if you're in the area.

BTW, I paid about $100 Canadian for this meal. 100%...

Abbiamo pranzato alle 4 nonostante la cucina avesse chiuso da una mezz’ora, calamarelle di antipasto, paccheri e cocchio, carbonara (al pesce) e calamaro alla griglia fenomenali, divini. Lo staff Nunzio e moglie sono simpaticissimi. Assolutamente top.

We lunched at 4pm although kitchen d been closed already, Nunzio and his wife had a little birthday celebration of a friend and allowed us to stay for lunch and cook for us while celebrating. Guys, paccheri and scialatielli tasted delicious, calamarelle, grilled calamaro and cocchio were gorgeously cooked. Prices? Very reasonable! Totally...

Esperienza deludente, purtroppo non torneremo Sono sempre andata in questo locale ogni anno con piacere, ma stavolta è stata un’esperienza davvero negativa. Non so cosa sia cambiato, ma la delusione è stata totale. Partiamo dagli antipasti: il pacchero fritto ripieno di ricotta era buono, niente da dire. I calamaretti fritti erano discreti, mentre le frittelle di alga non ci hanno convinto affatto: insapori e poco invitanti. Il vero problema però è stato il servizio. Mentre stavamo ancora gustando gli antipasti, arriva già il primo piatto, spaghetti con le vongole. Faccio notare alla cameriera che è un po’ presto visto che gli antipasti erano appena arrivati, e la sua risposta è stata: "Te l’ho portato ora perché altrimenti poi dovevi aspettare che uscissero i primi degli altri tavoli." Senza parole. Risultato? Io ho dovuto mangiare da sola, mentre il mio commensale ha aspettato ancora il suo piatto. Una gestione del servizio davvero assurda. In più, la qualità del cibo è stata al di sotto delle aspettative: Il mio piatto sapeva solo di vino, le vongole in realtà erano lupini, e ce n’erano appena 7 (le ho contate, con 8 gusci). La pasta era scotta e molle, al punto che l’ho lasciata nel piatto. Lo spaghetto allo scoglio era un po’ più ricco di pesce, ma anche lì la cottura della pasta era sbagliata. Abbiamo chiuso con un tiramisù discreto, ma nulla che potesse farci dimenticare l’esperienza generale. Davvero un peccato, perché era un locale a cui eravamo affezionati.
