Underwhelming. Expected much more based on the positive reviews. Pros - frittata and bruschetta excellent, friendly wait staff. Cons - this is not a ‘truffle’ restaurant as it’s made out to be. The only fresh (frozen, as it is not the season) truffle we received was some small shavings on the pasta. Everything else that had ‘truffle’ on it, was the salsa from a jar.. very disappointing. Cheese on antipasto was horrible; cinghiale, 80% sauce to 20% meat; agnello tartufato, 90% of the dish could not be eaten as it was pure white fat; , porcini truffle steak, again truffle salsa and a tiny piece of porcini. Desserts tasteless - tiramisu had one biscuit, it was a cup of mascarpone/cream, zuppa inglese very underwhelming. The restaurant is clean and elegant, the price is reasonable, however, look elsewhere if you hope to eat quality...

Sono andata in questo locale piena di aspettative, visto l'elevato numero di recensioni, tutte positive. In parte sono rimasta delusa, soprattutto per quanto riguarda il tartufo, che in realtà è una salsa tartufata. Si può decidere di mangiare alla carta, e, con il senno del poi, dai piatti che ho visto sfilare, credo sarebbe stata una scelta più appropriata o optare per un menù degustazione, composto da parecchie portate. Decidiamo per la seconda opportunità.

Ci vengono serviti, come antipasti : dei salumi di Norcia e del pecorino. Non memorabili i primi, buono il secondo. bruschetta al tartufo. Abbastanza anonima. frittata al tartufo. Gustosa. fagioli al prosciutto. Non molto saporiti. Di primo : fettuccine al tartufo. Sottile, elastica, perfetta la pasta, non mi è garbato molto invece il condimento. fioretti, asparagi e tartufo. Azzeccata la cottura dei fioretti, veramente al dente, per il resto non si riuscivano a distinguere i sapori. Mi sono limitata a un piccolo assaggio. Di secondo : agnello tartufato. Carne davvero troppo grassa. Ho "soprasseduto ". tagliata con funghi porcini e tartufo. Veramente ben fatta. Ho apprezzato. Cinghiale alla cacciatora. Buono. Contorno a scelta : cicoria ripassata in padella. L'ultimo passaggio sinceramente non l'ho notato. A me sembrava semplicemente bollita. Dessert a scelta : tiramisù per mio marito. Molto buono. zuppa inglese per me. Deliziosa, da standing ovation. Senza infamia e senza gloria il vino rosso della casa. Ottimi sia il pane che l'olio che ci è stato servito a tavola. Abbiamo chiuso con due caffè corretti al Varnelli.

The service was friendly albeit a little slow. We ordered an appetizer and 3 entrees and it took over an hour to get served. The best thing we ordered was the Castoro mosaic appetizer. It was a nice sampling of deli meat, tartufo omelette, beans, and 3 different bruschette. Unfortunately the ravioli and tagliatelle dishes tasted like the sauce had been previously frozen and the grilled filet was just ok.
