Ristorante River Sushi — Restaurant in Puegnago del Garda

Overall, my experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. While there were a few positives, the majority of the meal failed to meet my expectations.

Most of the dishes were standard for sushi-buffet-restaurants in this price range, average flavours and often too salty. However, the Ramen dish was a major letdown. It seemed like they simply took an instant ramen package from the supermarket and served it in an overly watery soup. The quality was so poor that I had to send it back to the kitchen.

Unfortunately, the disappointments continued. The octopus meatballs were not properly thawed, and to my surprise, one of them was still frozen on the inside.

Moreover, the service was below par. The food took an excessively long time to arrive at our table, testing our patience. Additionally, many of the dishes were overly oily, leaving a greasy aftertaste.

On a positive note, I must acknowledge that the restaurant excelled in one area—the quality of their beef. In particular, the "Udon with Beef" dish stood out as one of the best beef dishes I've ever had at this type of restaurant. The beef was tender, succulent, and perfectly cooked.

Furthermore, the waitstaff and host provided a silver lining to an otherwise lacklustre evening. They were pleasant and attentive.

Considering everything, like the underwhelming taste of most dishes, combined with issues of proper thawing and excessive oil, they outweigh the positive aspects. Additionally, knowing there are other sushi establishments nearby that I prefer, I don't think I'll...

RIASSUNTO: Non consiglio questo ristorante perché tutto fumo e niente arrosto. Un posto che si fa passare per ultra chic ma allo stesso prezzo sul Garda c'è nettamente meglio.

CIBO Parto da quello che mi è piaciuto: la qualità degli ingredienti. Hanno un salmone buono, un tonno nella media, un branzino discreto e dei gamberi rossi ottimi. Purtroppo i piatti buoni davvero erano limitati ad 1 a persona ed erano microscopici. Sò che è un ristorante a formula all you can eat e di norma mi piace che il roll sia piccolo o comunque ci siano dosi ben pensate, ma se posso ordinare UN piatto solo tra quelli limitati, fatemelo gustare. Erano 3 i piatti buoni, ma equivalevano ad un boccone ciascuno. Oltre a questa parentesi, riso era scotto e scondito, non si teneva insieme e non sono riuscita ad apprezzare i roll forse proprio per questo motivo. La burrata non so dove l'abbiano presa ma non sapeva di nulla... Ho provato anche il nigiri di anguilla. Molto scadente rispetto agli standard di altri all you can eat. Delusa anche dai fritti, stra unti e pesanti (eravamo in 5 al tavolo e siamo stati tutti male per colpa dei fritti).

SERVIZIO Al tavolo le cameriere che ci hanno servito non parlavano italiano e per qualsiasi cosa dovevano andare a chiamare un'altro cameriere che invece parlava benissimo. Non una cosa grave di base, ma quando i piatti non sono più arrivati, è stato un momento difficile. Non sono arrivati tutti i piatti del primo round di ordinazioni nemmeno dopo un ora e mezza. La situazione era la stessa anche nei tavolo vicini. Per alcuni piatti velocissimi, mentre per altri un'eternità. I camerieri gentilissimi e disponibili comunque, qua la colpa è da reindirizzare alla cucina e alla gestione.

AMBIENTE Bello, pulito, con un amplio parcheggio. Anche qui però abbiamo avuto un problema: davanti al nostro tavolo c'erano attaccate al soffitto delle ventole che ci sparavano aria calda in faccia. Inoltre l'interno era veramente super rumoroso. Ogni 30 minuti uscivo per prendermi una boccata d'aria ed evitare che mi venisse mal di testa.

Great evening. Really sweet and accommodating staff. Friendly and super helpful and cheerful. We were 2 adults and 2 children. Sushi and dim sum were delicious. Really big selection of dishes. Beautifully presented. Quick and efficient service. We’ve had sushi all over including Soho in London, Nobu, Gordon Ramsey’s Lucky Cat, Ivy Asia, Sushi Samba, and in Japan. We left really happy and completely stuffed 😋. Well done to all the staff & owners. Sorry no images as we gobbled it up...
