Ristorante la Barca — Restaurant in Pulsano

I went there with very high expectations but was a bit disappointed. The raw appetizers are great in taste but not so rich. Our shrimp and pomegranate appetizer was a bit tasteless. I had the caviar and asked where it was from and was told it was Norwegian when it's of course Siberian.

My partner had a frutti di mare pasta that was excellent, but small, which is ok. I went for the vongole, and it was awful which surprised me because a restaurant like this can't afford to not do vongole well.

After having had my main course which was good, according to me and bad in my partner's opinion I ordered coffee and liquor and paid the bill.

Shortly after another waiter asked me if they could offer me liquor and coffee, small money but the gesture is important.

For the quality of the food and the price we paid I'd say it's not great value for money, but it was probably an off day and the location is amazing. The products are all high quality and they put effort in to make the dishes look good.

Giovedì 28 aprile ho avuto modo di conoscere finalmente La barca, ristorante da poco ristrutturato sulla litoranea tarantina. Dopo ben 5/6 esperienze negative in diversi ristoranti della città (e correlate figuracce con i miei ospiti - basta leggere le mie recensioni precedenti), alla fine ho trovato IL ristorante. Vi spiego perché...

LOCALE: pur avendo lo spazio esterno, non allestito per ora visto l aprile freddo che stiamo avendo, abbiamo pranzato all interno, una sala total white molto luminosa con una bella vista sul mare. Elegante senza essere snob, mangiare in 4 nel tavolo rotondo è il top, impressione ottima fin dal primo momento.

PERSONALE: giovane, educato, sempre col sorriso, con il personale di sala abbiamo avuto tutti un buon feeling. Ciro, il proprietario, è una persona molto tranquilla, accomodante e col sorriso, che si avvicina con garbo per spiegare i piatti e accertarsi che tutto sia ok. Mai una nota stonata in 3 ore di pranzo.

CIBO: e veniamo al dunque. Non abbiamo mangiato, abbiamo avuto una vera esperienza di gusto! si viene ricevuti con un gradevolissimo welcome con olio evo, tarallo grande, paninetto al nero di seppia e bollicina. Poi parte il bello, con antipasti sublimi...crudo eccezionale (scampi e violette) polpo scottato..polpette di mare..trancio di tonno e almeno altre due portate, tutti piatti abbinati sapientemente a verdure e sapori spettacolari. Come primo dei paccheri al sugo di crostacei davvero ottimi. Per chiudere i secondi, con filetti di spigola e rombo, buonissimo anche questo.

VINI: carta molto valida, ma soprattutto rincaro molto basso, ad esempio un Teresamanara di Cantele a 15 euro è tanta roba.

IN CONCLUSIONE: inviterei TUTTI i "ristoratori" di Taranto a dare una sbirciatina alla Barca, forse inizieranno a rifare con passione e qualità il proprio...

The most incredible experience. Its easily the best sea food experience. We were the only foreigners, the service was exquisite.

We were welcomed warmly, though its difficult to get a table, they don't encourage foreigners for table booking, but we were introduced by a local friend.

The range of starters were superb. The main was a sea bass fried with Tempura batter. Our waiter seemed to know exactly what we needed.

We couldn't believe the bill, a bottle of Primitivo rose and everything else together for 60 E unbelievable.

Wish I could go there again to try all those other delicious...
