Ristorante Il Campiello — Restaurant in Quarto d'Altino

We were staying at the Crown Plaza and didn't feel like going out again to find a restaurant for our last night in Venice. We decided to go to the Restorante ll Campiello in the hotel. The service was excellent, the menu only had 10-12 main courses on it. I chose the braised Veal which was very good, crispy on the outside and very tender inside with a nice sauce. I ordered a birra Peroni, perfectly cold in a nice tall glass. My wife ordered the Ravioli which she said was pretty good. The only negative thing I could say is that the bread service wasn't the best, but on our 19 day Italy/Croatia trip we only had good bread 3-4 times, lot's of just OK bread. We would eat there...

I have to agree with the other reviewer about Francesco. Extremely bad mannerism - took our order and immediately tried to add French Fries to the order as if it was part of the meal. I didn’t want French Fries and asked if there was an optional item. He just kept saying no option in a very rude way. He also got into an argument with the table one over. We vonden dit restaurant toen we op zoek waren naar een restaurant dat open was op maandag, en we waren dus beperkt in onze keuze. Dit restaurant had goede reviews, dus we arriveerden in goede moed. Helaas, na afloop heb ik weinig positiefs te melden. Het eten varieerde van middelmatig tot slecht: te ver doorgekookte gnocchi, afgekoelde ravioli, minestrone die uit een blik leek te komen, verbrande auberginepuree. Bediening was onverschillig, onhygiënisch met mondkapjes (mondkapje af om de neus te krabben, en dan met die hand broodjes klaarmaken), onbekwaam (hele vis ontgraten met een lepel en vork).
