This is unfortunately another example of service letting down a restaurant. We had this restaurant recommended to us as we were staying on the island nearby. We arrived and there were only 3 other tables occupied and all the others were empty. We were accommodated to a table. We asked for English speaking assistance however it seems that asking for English speaking assistance at this restaurant is either a challenge or they just don't care. I believe they don't care as its quite typical of Sardinian arrogance we have experienced elsewhere also. Why do I say this? Because the waitress went to call for an English speaking member to explain to us the Specials they had, but, the person only spoke in Italian and recited to us everything in Italian. We then just ordered their fried fish platter which was recommended to us which in fairness tasted good. Presentation wise though it was poor. Just slapped onto a plate. If you want to eat here, make sure you have completed a 12 week Italian speaking course at minimum or bring an interpreter. Other reviews indicate most staff speak perfect English but that wasn't the case at all in our circumstance. Again, its a shame when the service doesn't match the food. This is a very touristic island and I would have thought that some basic English (not fluent at all) and good service would have been a...
Read moreI happened to be there today by chance, I was just passing by and thought I'd stop in. And then — shock — no one speaks English except for one black hair guy who was extremely kind. The waitress who served us didn’t even know how to say hello in English. I asked for a menu, and she handed it to me in Italian, even though it was obvious we were foreigners and there was also menu on English. On top of that, her body language made it clear that we weren’t welcome (I mean as tourists ). She had black hair, wore glasses, and had tattoos on her arms.
Let me just say this briefly: I hope that wherever you go, people treat you like garbage — since that’s how you treat guests in the restaurant where you’re just an employee, and it's your job to be helpful and polite. That’s how it works everywhere else in the world — or maybe you’ve never stepped off this island.
Food was ok i don't know, its hard to pick anything from the menu or help with recomendation from staff because they don't want to try to help you to choose or recomend something.
I would like to say for tourists, avoid this place and spent money somewhere else, because obviosly they like to serve only Italian...
Read moreWas disappointed with this place. The menu looked promising, but each of our plates had faults. Tuna tartare was too coarsely chopped, still with some sinew attached, unseasoned and with no accompaniments. Calamari was a bit chewy, and the red skin hadn't been removed which looks unattractive and which causes the squid rings to curl up when fried. Again nothing served with it. The lobster fregola was probably the worst dish. It had lots of lobster shell, but NO lobster meat. Guess that had gone somewhere else ... It was over-salty and swimming in a large puddle of otherwise tasteless broth. The diaphragm steak was actually quite good, but when it arrived it clearly hadn't been rested as a pool of blood appeared soon after it was served which drowned the side salad and was most unappetising. This is a very basic mistake for a grill restaurant to be making ..... I asked for mustard and they didn't have any. We sat outside, where we were constantly swatting away flies which suggests a problem with the bins. There were two sets of speakers, each playing a different soundtrack. This place isn't cheap, and at this price level the food and setup should be...
