Italy is my second home. This was my first time in Sardinia, and after four nights, we decided to treat ourselves to a dining experience at the harbour’s Victory by Lord Nelson restaurant. Never in a million years would I have predicted the terrible experience we were about to have.
Firstly, I feel as if my partner and I were profiled, which is a shame because we genuinely looked forward to eating here. Our starters were very promising—10/10—but after that, everything went downhill. The mains arrived 40 minutes after our starters, and we had to get up twice to ask for them because every other table that arrived after us was served before us.
We also had to request salt and pepper because the condiments weren’t already on the table. To top it off, when it was time to leave, there was no waiter in sight, so my partner had to go inside to pay. Mind you, while we were still waiting for our mains, the waiter who eventually brought them actually told us to complain to the manager about how long we’d been kept waiting.
Anyway, we paid our bill inside with the restaurant owner or manager, and my partner expressed our frustrations. Shortly after, one of the runners approached us, claiming we hadn’t paid. I told them we had, but they still sent security to chase us down—only for them to return a few minutes later confirming that, indeed, we had paid inside to the owner or manager. No apology. Nothing.
What a terrible way to end what started off as a...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I arrived at the restaurant and had to go to the checkout counter to ask for a table because there was no one to host us. Finally we sat down and ordered 6 oysters and 2 pastas with seafood. After a while the waitress brought the 06 oysters and only 01 plate of pasta with seafood at same time (starter and main plate). We didn't understand why she brought the two together when the pasta would get cold. And we kept waiting for my boyfriend's pasta. After 10 minutes we asked the waitress about the dish and she said she only understood “01”. We said it didn't make sense. She called the other waitress who said the kitchen was already closed and she couldn't do anything. We paid for the oysters and left. Terrible service, there is no organization of tables for those arriving, there is no planning in the kitchen and the waitress was slightly rude as if we were to blame. I do not recommend this...
Read moreLocated in a beautiful and small marina lies Victory by Lord Nelson beautiful views of the yachts and the marina. The restaurant though didn't live up to our expectations as it came highly recommended. We ordered fish (Dorade) which tasted fresh but it wasn't as good as we had elsewhere. They have a menu item called “Hand cut chips - not french fries” which was disappointing. Similar to a bag of potato crisps. Thats what they were like. If they were truely hand cut chips like the Nonnas or Yiayas make at home it would have been great. Service was hit and miss. We had our drinks mixed up and at one point a young waiter came to serve us another tables food order, yet there were only 3 tables booked at that time. Service needs serious attention. For its prime location they need to lift their game. All in all it’s an ok restaurant but not anything...
