Stasera Pago Io — Restaurant in Ragusa

It has the potential to be a fantastic restaurant. It's very spacious, with inside and outside dining. Decor is cool and minimalist. Food, when it came was beautiful....,however the staff do not care. I ended up eating alone when my family had already finished their seconde piatti. I pointed out that my order hadn't arrived and it took a further 10 minutes for somebody to ask me what I had ordered. It then took 15 minutes to bring the veal cutlet, which was exquisite! No apology offered at all. My daughter's food in prima piatti was brought too early so she ended up eating cold pizza while my wife and son ate their food. I brought all this to the attention of staff when I paid my bill and he just shrugged his shoulders. I speak excellent Italian and there was no language misunderstanding. Very poor. Restaurant "suffers " from being too accessible and no one has to work hard to please...

The place is huge and has a nice wood oven, but STAFF is UNWELCOMING as you come in, as well as UNFRIENDLY throughout your stay there. Also, their pizzas are not that great either (in terms of taste, quality of the ingredients and presentation). We had four different ones yesterday and only the 'quattro formaggi' was decent enough; the rest was eatable only if you were starving, and the 'TONNATA' (in other words the classic 'tonno e cipolla') was HORRIBLE also 'cos they make it with GREASY PRE-FRIED ONIONS🤦🏻‍♂️ which is utterly disgusting for a pizza lover... and they don't even warn the unsuspecting customer as they order their pizza. I mean, they SHOULD at least ask: "con cipolla fritta, o cruda?". So...

We booked here to celebrate my wife’s birthday & were very disappointed. It seems to be all about numbers & how many they can get through the restaurant on the night. Hence the service was very poor as the waiters are really stretched. Starters arrived fairly promptly as restaurant was quiet then & food seemed ok. Hardly had my wife’s fork been put down & her main course was served as was my sons . No time to allow for digestion! Nearly 20minutes passed before my main course arrived. We had to ask the waitress twice ! Not a great experience at all especially as it was for a special occasion. At no time were we asked if everything was ok either. We’re here for two weeks but certainly won’t be making a...
