Ristorante La Tavernetta — Restaurant in Reggio Calabria

We chose this restaurant after reading all the great reviews online and let me assure you, this place is even better in reality! We entered this place thinking we were about to have a regular dinner, and left there after having the most amazing dining experience we ever had! This place does not have a menu and there is a fixed price 4 course meat based meal. As a vegetarian I wasn't sure whether we made the right choice coming here, and the waiter even told us that we should have let them know in advance so they could have prepared accordingly. Long story short, we got eight (!) different starters, seven of them were vegetarian and each dish was better than the other!! The amazing oweners made sure personally that I had a vast variety of dishes to enjoy from, all fresh, home made, very generous portions and super delicious! The entire meal, including the desserts, has definitely surpassed our expectations, both in the quality of food and also with the most incredible hospitality. Although we live in Switzerland, we travel to Italy a lot, and this was by far, the best meal with the best service we ever had! Price was super affordable, especially considering the high quality and large portions. Arrivo nel locale con la mia ragazza ci sediamo, nemmeno mi chiedono consa voglio da mangiare o da bere che subito mi arrivano i taglieri dall'antipasto, io dico al cameriere già un pò infastidito di non avere tanta fame e che la mia ragazza avrebbe continuato col menu mentre io non avrei gradito più nulla. A parte la carne congelata di bassa qualità, arriviamo al conto che mi fanno pagare 43 euro, 43 euro dove io non ho mangiato e la mia ragazza a fine serata si è anche sentita male, in pratica un pò di affettato e carne congelata siamo anche dovuti tornare a casa per esserci sentiti male. Più che altro alibito dal comportamento dei camerieri e dal proprietario, perché in pratica mi hanno imposto di mangiare quello che volevano loro e quando ho scelto di non farlo mi hanno anche fatto pagare di più indispettiti. Io comunque il resto del mangiare lho preso da portare, vi sdico soltanto che anche a casa si sono sentiti male. Se vai alla Tavernetta, vai sempre sul sicuro. Ci siamo stati per una cresima ed abbiamo concordato, fra quelli proposti, con la proprietaria (persona gentile e disponibile) un menù di carne da 30 euro bevande e dessert incluso. Alla Tavernetta sai che ti alzi da tavola soddisfatto per il rapporto qualità (ma anche quantità) - prezzo. Non ti propongono piatti alla Cracco nelle quantità di Cannavacciuolo (poi vorrei vedere se a casa sua fa quelle porzioni che offre ai clienti). Il giro di antipasti è sfizioso e già ti saziano gli occhi e lo stomaco. Il bis di primi ti viene "rabboccato" per Costituzione, così come i bis secondi (unica nota negativa la braciola di maiale al sugo era un po' asciutta mentre quello al forno di vitello era tenero e succoso). Infine il servizio: attento e disponibile e cordialità del proprietario. In sintesi: se hai fame, sei in buona compagnia (una bella tavolata), non vuoi accendere un mutuo per pagare il conto, e vuoi trascorrere una bella serata allora questo è il posto...
