So, we stroll into this restaurant, which looks to be a nice restaurant ran by the family. But what a such foul mood the staff were. The vibe was awful. First up, the blonde lady, who I’m guessing owns the place, was just slamming chairs around while setting up tables. And her sidekick? Just as unfriendly. Then there’s this guy with a beard, probably another owner, who was in total funk. I politely asked him if they had internet and he just grumbled something like “this place is for eating’ while clearing our plates. Seriously? I’ve been to places that offer internet without acting like I’m asking for the moon. To top of it off, when we went to pay, they asked if they could just add everything together and split it six ways. I said no because we all ordered different stuff, some pricier than others, so it wouldn’t be fair. Then the grumpy blond lady came back and shouted in Italian to the cashier about how busy they were to split the bill. But guess what? I understand pretty well Italian, and said really? It just the six of us here to pay. The cashier, despite also being in a bad mood, realised things could get worse and split the bill anyway. We managed to sort it out, but then their internet was crap, so it took forever to pay because of them and not because of us. Honestly, I think they were just because there weren’t many places open on Mondays, so we didn’t have many other options. It is not worth going to, if you are expecting to have a calm meal and not...
Read moreCan't understand why Sotto Broletto does not have a higher score. Excellent food and service. We went on a Sunday. They stayed open late in the afternoon to feed lost and hungry athletes. I went back on the evening and had the mussels al diavalo and the fish mixed grill. Both extremely traditional and authentic. The Pizza was perfect as were the salads. Wonderful, friendly staff. The ambience is interesting in between old Italian buildings and half underneath an old covered walkway. Good prices for...
