A real shame as we travelled here after reading good reviews. We booked through a seperate platform and although initially charmed by the environment things quickly turned sour. It became obvious it was only hotel guests in the restaurant apart from us. It took 30 minutes for someone to take our order and a further 35 minutes for our starters to arrive. It became clear that we weren’t as ‘important’ as the hotel guests. Our first course arrived after 90 minutes after being told they were busy but no offer of a drink or anything as we waited. When the first course did arrive the steak was totally inedible - this was taken off and replaced but again there was no real apology. When it cam To the bill we asked for some compensation and were told they had to call for a manager - we waited like school children for a manager to come back with his resolve - again we had to wait 20’minutes for the bill. All that was removed was the steak that was sent back. A real disaster!!...

The highlight of the evening was definitely the filetto di manzo — absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. As a side, we had the rosemary potatoes, which were spectacular.
The house olive oil and wine were also excellent. For dessert, both the pistachio crème brûlée and the apple tart were outstanding — impressive in flavor and definitely a must.
Overall, a good experience with some dishes stronger than others, but the highlights made it...
Read moreThis might be one of the best "base" spots to visit Tuscany. It's only a few minutes from San Gimignano, less than 40 from Pisa, less than 50 from Firenze, less than 30 from Siena. You won't have to drive more than a few minutes, and then you'd be able to hit pretty much every place in Tuskany. The place in itself is magical. You would appreciate the quiet environment, the amazing restaurant, and the helpfulness of everyone in the property. Dine in with the beautiful San Gimignano on the background. Don't forget to taste all their wines and if you have space in your suitcase bring with yourself a few bottles of their wines...
