If you want to get a taste of Liguria for a ridicuously low price and in an idyllic scenery, then La Lavinella is something for you.
They really care about the food experience and do this by serving a multi-course menu. Normally it's 3-4 courses, anti-pasta, pasta, meat and dessert, but their menu frequently changes, so you'll have to see when you're there.
Be aware: if you come with 2 persons, I recommend that you share the meals (just say that you want 1 dish for 2). If you pick meals individually, you may not survive the full 4 courses; they do not save on portions :).
The staff was really friendly, there was only one waiter that spoke English and I believe he only did drinks. The others spoke Italian (of course) and a bit of French.
If you're coming by car, I wouldn't recommend parking in front of the restaurant. Not only is the street quite small to get there, but there is only room for 4 cars (6 cars if 2 cars decide to block the exit for the other 4 cars, which happened to us...).
