Le Village de Thumel — Restaurant in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame

We walked along the snow path on a Saturday in January but the restaurant was full for lunch. We booked for a Saturday lunch in early March and enjoyed the walk along the snow path from Chanavey. We enjoyed a huge “tagliere royale” (platter of hams and cheese) between three and could not finish it! Therefore we struggled and failed to finish our primi piatti (polenta/gnocchi). Be cautious, take care as you can’t contact them in any way and they avoid any money return if they can not offer the service they offer! They asked me forn30euros in order to make a reservation, it was not possible to visit the restaurant due to recent floods and extremely bad weather at the area and they informed me that I could not visit them. Till now they refuse to return the money I have send them via money transfer at their banking account number. Following the message I send them in Italian….

A causa del maltempo e dell’impossibilità di accedere al ristorante con l’auto, ci avete informato che ci avreste restituito l’acconto, mentre successivamente ci avete comunicato che non lo fareste. Considerando che non è stato possibile a causa delle condizioni meteorologiche e dell’informazione che ci avete fornito, vi prego di restituire immediatamente l’importo sul conto con i seguenti dati. Altrimenti, mi riservo di tutelare i miei diritti legali tramite i tribunali italiani e le autorità fiscali competenti.

Preciso che questa è una tappa che ripercorrono tutti gli anni durante le mie vacanze estive. Quest'anno sono rimasto fortemente deluso dal servizio, l'oste si è dimostrato scontroso nei modi, il servizio è stato lento e poco accorto, a partire dal modo i cui è stata presa la comanda, e ad una richiesta specifica, di un piatto che ricorreva gli anni precedenti, la risposta, scortese, è stata che se non indicata nel menù voleva dire che non l'avevano disponibile. Anche i piatti da "menù " non erano assolutamente all'altezza degli anni passati. Come ciliegina sulla torta, avendo una medicina da dover somministrare al mio cane, ho chiesto la gentilezza di poter avere una fettina di salume, qualunque fosse, che mi è stato servito e conteggiato al prezzo di 3€ (immagino che un tagliere costi 100€, in proporzione) sono rimasto molto deluso, tant'è vero che ho ritenuto opportuno lasciare una recensione onesta e spontanea.
