What an amazing afternoon. We stopped in this tiny town to visit the castle, which was closed. Took a walk around and decided we might try for a bite at the local restaurant. It was a quiet day for them, mostly devoted to cleaning and celebrating the hostess’s birthday, however, they welcomed us instantly. Over the next five hours, they shared curated meats and cheeses, made homemade buckwheat pasta and shared everything their village and countryside produced with us. The gastronomic tour also included wines, Muscato, moonshine, grappa, lemoncello, and something distilled from apples, which was delicious. Simona and Luca are beautiful people, live in a beautiful place, and love sharing their town and Village. While working to regain our equilibrium after the meal and generous libations, Luca took us on a walking tour of the village and the castle grounds. Abbiamo ordinato, alla gentile proprietaria, il menù lavoratore a 13€, composto da tagliatelle burro e salvia (molto abbondanti, serviti direttamente dalla padella), stracotto con patate, sorbetto ai frutti di bosco (una vera delizia, preparato in casa) e caffè. Nel mio caso, forse dovuto all'assenza di toma grattugiata, le tagliatelle risultavano un po' secche, mentre ai miei compagni di pranzo no. Lo stracotto aveva alcune fette che sapevano troppo di vino, mentre altre erano buone. In aggiunta, come accompagnamento, ci hanno portato una focaccia all'aglio, anch'essa con gusto deciso.
