Pizza e Basta 2.0 — Restaurant in Rodano

If Jeremy Clarkson were reviewing Pizza & Basta, he would use the catchphrase "The best pizza... in the world!". It would not be an overstatement either.

The wide selection of pizze and calzoni on the menu are all made using the Pizza & Basta special (and secret recipe) dough. The result is a fantastically thin and crisp base which has cracker like bubbles on the crust. As the pizza base is so thin, the ratio of topping to base is higher than most pizzerie, but never so high as to make consuming it a challenge. Because of the special thin crust, the only pizza size is massive, and often overspills the large round plates served on. For the basil and pesto lovers out there I personally recommend the pizza Ligure.

Service is friendly and down to earth. If eating in, you have the option of using the room upstairs (nice and cosy in winter) or sitting at the tables outdoors (perfect for the Rodano summer). All seating and tables are rigorously at plastic tables and chairs.

Good selection of Italian beers and soft drinks, even chinotto is available.

A massive thumbs up from me. People travel from all places just to have pizza at...

Se vi piace la pizza sottile (non quella napoletana, per intenderci) dovete provare quella fornita in questa pizzeria, perché merita proprio di essere gustata.

Ingredienti di prima qualità, impasto sottile, ben lievitato, prezzi onesti: pizza al top, per quanto mi riguarda.

Ho però delle perplessità su un paio di aspetti. Il servizio (prestato dalla titolare): decisamente essenziale, a tratti rude. E poi sul piccolo locale in cui si mangia: curato, piacevole (gradevoli i quadri che lo arredano)... Però decisamente freddo per essere una sala da pranzo (ma non ci sono mai andato durante la stagione calda, magari in quel periodo ci si sta meglio).

Insomma da provare la pizza, anche se qualcosa non mi...

Premetto che sono molto esigente sulla pizza, essendo abituato alla vera pizza Napoletana. Qui l'impasto è troppo leggero e sciapito. Il cornicione sembra un salatino extracroccante e si sbriciola al tatto. Il condimento è discreto ma con questa base non risalta. Ho visto stendere la pasta con una specie di rullo automatico e la cosa mi fa sorridere. Il locale e i piani di lavoro mi sono sembrati molto puliti. Anche i proprietari sono positivi, veloci nel servizio e gentili nei modi. Prezzi nella media...ma considerando la qualità anche alti. Tutto sommato ogni tanto va bene per una pizza...
