The Gammon Pub — Restaurant in Roveredo in Piano

The food here was incredible. We loved everything we ate. We are early eaters so were excited to find a place that was open at 6. They did tell us they would need that table by 8. If you are a late eater you'll need a reservation! The Apollo sandwich was very tasty. The kids loved their meals. The blueberry preserves that came with my husband's chicken was so fabulous I most definitely stole it for my sandwich. I was nervous if my kids would be reluctant to eat the fries, but they all loved them. They did warn us a sound check was going on before they sat us. I thought it would be fine and was grateful they were willing to serve us, but it was too loud for our kiddos unfortunately. They told us they never want to go back because it was too loud (Mom fail). If you like very LOUD live music (at least to my old lady self) they apparently have that sometimes. The bathrooms really need some updating.We learned tonight the take away was equally fabulous (we ordered again tonight as a to-go order) so while we may never get our kids to willingly walk through the front door again they will happily devour the food once home! Food is good, attentive staff, family friendly, and reasonable prices.

The Gammon is the closest thing Aviano has to a Chile’s or Applebee’s. Good burgers, poppers, and ribs too. And of course because we are in Italy, you can get a nice pizza as well. If you’re an American and looking for a touch of familiarity in casual dining, The Gammon is the place.

Travelling around in typical military fashion causes skepticism of establishments closest to a military installation’s main gate. Because of this I was at Aviano for several months before my first visit to The Gammon. To my fellow Americans who have not been there, don’t let the location scare you off.

the food is delicious and the ambiance along with the decor makes for a very welcoming and relaxing place for a family dinner, however the service was less than lackluster. we were seen to order, and to be given our food. requests for additional sauces or refills went ignored or unfulfilled even after being told “i’ll be right back with that”. had it been busy it would make sense, but it was completely dead with the entire section we were sat in empty, along with all the surrounding sections. the portions of the food was perfect, and overall it was a great dinner, just don’t expect the...
