My worst nightmare came to fruition last night while at dinner service here... Our group was having a celebration and as you know, tons of food is coming and things are moving so fast. One of my friends and I ordered the chicken skewers as an appetizer. He received his first, ate, and paused from eating. When I got my chicken about 5 mins later, he watched as I took a bite. Immediately, I noticed that the chicken tasted bad so I spit it out. I then inspected the piece I had to see if it was cooked all the way because the flavor was off. My friend then said "it tastes weird, right? I was wondering if it's because it was fresh or something." I decided to try the second skewer to see if it was both that were bad. I dipped it in the sauce that was on the plate, and right when I took a bite, I noticed something in the sauce. I looked closer at the sauce and that's when I realized there was a WORM on my plate... Then it started moving... And I immediately spit out the other piece and notified the staff. They apologized, took my plate away, then came back and said that it was okay because it was a worm that was on the veggies... Um, no. Any worm from any means on a plate at a restaurant is not okay. So it's my understanding that they do not conduct proper cleaning of the food prior to serving. No, no. I didn't wind up ordering any additional food. When it came time to pay, I still had to pay (discounted price but it was still a lot considering) and not told anything else. I worked in the food industry for 3 years before and never once had something like this happen; even on our busiest holidays. I could not in good conscience, not say anything about this happening or recommend this place to anyone else unless something changes with their food...
Read moreFinally a decent sushi restaurant. One thing I’ve missed the most since moving from California to Italy is Asian cuisine. The options locally aren’t great so I typically just avoid them completely. I decided to take a chance on this place since I was hearing good things about it, I wasn’t disappointed. We went for lunch, I and my partner are on Keto so we’re pretty limited to strictly meat on the menu but everything we had was delicious. The portion size for the grilled salmon is VERY small and limited to one per person, it tasted great though. Rolls are typically my favorite but alas the diet does not permit them, they all seemed to be the standard rolls I see locally but I’d still give them a try.
Only note I think worth bringing up is that we ordered a bottle of wine and didn’t finish it. I’m not sure if they typically toss the cork but when we were ready to go they had to find one that fits. I recommend requesting that they leave the cork with you if you don’t plan to finish the entire bottle you order in a sitting.
Overall I’d say it’s worth trying out and I will definitely be returning. For those who are regulars to sushi from the states or even Japan I’d say this is the closest we’re...
Read moreAll you can eat lunch and dinner options. The AYCE lunch menu is more limited but plenty of options. The AYCE menu includes everything except drinks, coffee, and dessert -- the menu includes appetizers, sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, chirashi, poke, rice/noodle options, and much, much more. They also have some large mixed sushi orders that are great for a larger group. Lunch AYCE price is very reasonable, approximately €15.95. Dinner AYCE is around €30.
They have recently updated their system to include a tablet ordering system that allows you to browse the menu and instantly send food/drink orders. There is a maximum # of dishes you can order at a time with a timed wait between orders based on group size.
The down side is when you are with a group, you may not remember what you ordered and the dishes just pour out of the kitchen so you may have to share a bit at the beginning. Easy enough when you're among friends.
The ambiance is lovely and the staff is friendly. The menu accommodates vegetarian/vegan diets and they are kind toward children. Always a...
