Drei Birken — Restaurant in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

We were absolutely delighted with our 3 night stay at this hotel during our 10-day tour of Northern Italy. Everywhere we stayed was nice and we were happy with our choices—but this hotel truly stood out and became a real highlight of the trip.||||From the outside, it reflects the traditional architecture of the area, and once inside, the hotel seamlessly blends that tradition with a fresh, modern design.||||Our room was fabulous—spacious, stylish, and ideal for relaxing after a day out exploring. The bedroom also had a balcony that didn’t cram in two chairs, but offered real space and a stunning view overlooking the mountains—a perfect spot to unwind. The bathroom felt spacious , with a fabulous walk-in shower that added a sense of indulgence.||||The hotel also features a shared living room for guests, beautifully set out and so inviting. We especially loved the huge flat-screen TV, the beautiful modern log fire, a thoughtfully curated collection of books for every taste and age, different games on each table and even an electronic darts game. It was a lovely communal space to relax in.||||One of the most heartwarming aspects of this hotel is that it’s run by three generations of the same family. It’s so nice to see them looking after each other and working together. The oldest member of the family made time to say hello and try talk with us (our Italian needs improving) but we managed. He was taking leftovers for the chickens and keeps bees—their honey is served on the breakfast buffet and it’s delicious.||||The hospitality was second to none. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, and yes—our motorbike went in the garage! A great bonus for riders. We also appreciated the passes they provided for the train, bus, and cable car to Bolzano—so helpful and thoughtful.||||A planned itinerary for a ride through the Dolomites made for one of the best days of our trip. And the food—absolutely excellent. Home-made, traditional dishes were served with a professional and friendly touch and a local Dolomite gin for aperitif—a perfect introduction to the flavors of the region.||||We feel incredibly lucky to have discovered this gem. Siamo capitati in questo hotel a conduzione familiare quasi per caso, avendo deciso spontaneamente di prenotare nei pressi di Bolzano, e devo dire che è stata la scelta migliore che potessimo fare! L’albergo è davvero bello, curato in ogni dettaglio e perfettamente in linea con la tradizione locale, senza rinunciare al comfort moderno. Il personale è davvero molto gentile e disponibile, capace di trasmettere un autentico senso di casa e di accoglienza. Le camere, pulitissime, uniscono modernità e tradizione creando un’atmosfera calda e rilassante. La colazione è ricca e di ottima qualità, e anche la cena al ristorante è davvero ottima caratterizzata da piatti tipici preparati con cura e ingredienti freschi. Abbiamo apprezzato molto l’attenzione per l’ospite, la cura dei particolari e la passione per il proprio lavoro che si percepisce in ogni angolo della struttura. La posizione è inoltre comodissima per chi ama fare escursioni e scoprire le bellezze della zona. Un posto in cui torneremo sicuramente con piacere!

Wir sind eher zufällig in diesem familiengeführten Hotel gelandet, da wir uns spontan entschieden haben, in der Nähe von Bozen zu buchen – und es war wirklich die beste Wahl, die wir hätten treffen können! Das Hotel ist wunderschön, bis ins Detail gepflegt und spiegelt perfekt die lokale Tradition wider, ohne dabei auf modernen Komfort zu verzichten. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit und vermittelt ein echtes Gefühl von Zuhause und herzlicher Gastfreundschaft. Die Zimmer sind makellos sauber und verbinden Moderne und Tradition auf geschmackvolle Weise, was eine warme und entspannende Atmosphäre schafft. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und von ausgezeichneter Qualität, und auch das Abendessen im Restaurant war ein echtes Erlebnis, mit liebevoll zubereiteten Gerichten aus frischen Zutaten. Besonders geschätzt haben wir die Aufmerksamkeit für den Gast, die Liebe zum Detail und die spürbare Leidenschaft, die in jedem Bereich des Hauses steckt. This place deserves the top ratings that it has been getting and easily deserves the full 5 stars from me. We only stopped for lunch but were instantly impressed by the cleanliness, the efficiency and the friendliness of the place. Our server was totally natural in at least 3 languages (we are a multi-lingual family, so we appreciate that), he was charming and helpful. The food was delicious, well-presented and really good value. There were abundant supplies to keep the children entertained too and, even when a school party arrived unannounced, the service remained friendly and unflustered.
