I ate here with a friend because of the 4.3 rating, but we were thoroughly disappointed, even grossed out.
First, the service was dreadful. Apart from one relatively nice (older) waiter, all the waiters (teenagers) ignored us most of the time, and when they delivered the food, effectively threw it on the table. They forgot to give us cutlery for the main dish, we had to get it ourselves.
Second, the food was basically gross. The appetizer was some cheap mozzarella and tomato with a basil leaf on top - edible but bland. The main dish was pasta, which was overcooked and soggy, with shrimp and mussels that were dry and without flavor (defrosted and reheated), and the sauce was some unrecognizable brownish concoction with too much salt (probably to mask the lack of flavor).
I have no idea how such a place can have such a good rating. I recommend avoiding this place...
Read moreThe best meal we had in Sicily. We ordered the antipasto rustico, fried seafood, risotto, carbonara, and mushroom ravioli. Everything was delicious. The antipasto was unbelievable - tender tripe, slow cooked pork in lemon and olive oil, fried stuffed mushrooms, eggplant fried and stewed, cheeses, meats, olives, sun dried tomatoes- the bread was so fresh - then we had mushroom and sausage risotto, ravioli, and carbonara - all generous portions and absolutely delicious. I could go on an on - I would return to Sambuca just for this restaurant. Our server Enzo was very friendly...

I have not yet tried all dishes but I trust that you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Enzo, Lilio and the whole team— yesterday night at your place with our large group has been a...
