L'abbecedario — Restaurant in San Damiano d'Asti

Unfortunately far from ideal. We came for lunch, on Sunday. There were 3-4 other tables, and despite the menu being very reduced, it took ages for us to get our food. Between the start and first course it took so long that we gave up about having the second course. In my opinion, the food was ok, but too way too expensive for what they were serving, both on quantity and quality. The staff was nice and friendly but I didn’t expect to spend three hours to have lunch. Maybe they could stick with less ambitious dishes and focus on offering a simple but more satisfying meal - specially charging 40€...

Dieses Restaurant, entstanden aus einem ehemaligen kleinem Schulhaus, ist sehr zu empfehlen. Ausgezeichnete Küche, exzellenter Service, die Mama kocht ausgezeichnet und mit jahrzehntelanger Erfahrung die ursprüngliche piemontesische Küche und die Tochter Francesca leitet das Restaurant mit einer offenen herzlichen Art und Freundlichkeit, wie ich sie hier schon lange nicht mehr erlebt habe. Der Garten ist sehr ansprechend eingerichtet und man hat die Möglichkeit im Sommer auch draußen bewirtet zu werden. Innen im Restaurant ist eine gelungene Verbindung aus der Geschichte des Schulhauses und einem modernen Restaurant entstanden. Auch für Caterings ist dieses Restaurant sehr zu empfehlen und mit 5 Sternen zu bewerten, meine Gäste in meinem Ferienhaus waren sehr zufrieden und glücklich. Io e mia moglie abbiamo deciso di farci un weekend nelle Langhe, ma non conoscendo la zona abbiamo cercato su internet i ristoranti nelle vicinanze e a poco meno di un km abbiamo trovato questo ristorante. Non avevamo prenotato in quanto siamo arrivati tardi nel b&b dove alloggiavamo e non sapevamo che avevano tenuto il ristorante chiuso per quella giornata, ma per nostra fortuna abbiamo trovato qualcuno che ci accogliesse e per loro grande gentilezza ci hanno fatto accomodare dentro. Erano mamma e figlia, precisamente la cuoca e la cameriera, estremamente cordiali e alla mano, ci siamo sentiti subito a nostro agio. Il cibo era molto buono ed altrettanto il rapporto qualità/prezzo. Quando capiterà di tornare nelle Langhe ci ricorderemo di questo posto senza dubbio....
