If we consider that the restaurant is located nearby the Langhe area (where landscape and food are just fantastic), it would be quite easy to believe that this place would go un-noticed.||||However, this place definetly deserve a visit or two. Although I travel around Italy and Europe, I have hardly found a place that can match the hospitality of the owner and his family. They are very nice, always very happy to accomodate any needs and they are just great with kids.||||The food offered is a set of traditional country side dishes. This means that the menu is not vaste (3 options for pasta dishes, 3 or 4 for meat) and it is seldomly changed (normally every season). But this is normal if you want to eat fresh local food.||||The starters are normally include raw meat (my favourite) and peppers with anchovies, which are both very typical and very tasty.||||The pasta they prepare is normally quite good, nothing extraordinary, while their meat is just outstanding. If you actually manage to go there you must try the bollito (a set of different cuts of boiled beef meat offered with a set of sauces) and the wild boar stew. They are just fantastic.||||Also bare in mind that if you go for the full meal you will be served with 5 (five) starters, 1 dish of pasta, 1 dish of meat and one dessert for the price of about 20€. You better prepare your stomach.||||The wine selection is very good, after all they are near the Langhe area. Considering the type of food they serve, you better try a Dolcetto, a Barbera or a Nebbiolo. Stronger and more expensive type of wine are also available, but they ay be to strong and not in line with the simple atmospehere.||||I have brought friends from different nationalities (Italian, Irish, French, South American) and none of them have ever been disappointment. The city whete the restaurant is placed is not much, but you could integrate the meal with a visit in the Sanctuary of Vicoforte Mondovi or a walk in Val Casotto. The place is also not too far off from Mondovicino (a...

Read moreWe had discovered the hotel Del Peso by pure chance one evening and stayed just one night in this friendly little town. We had asked for a triple room, which was booked out. Nevertheless the manager was very helpful and arranged a double room to be re-arranged for a moderate price (85,- €). Breakfast (not included, though cheap) was very good, with local cheeses, jam, croissants, bread etc.||As the hotel seems freshly renovated the rooms and beds were comfortable and spotless clean. ||The staff is most friendly and very helpful! ||I would always go...
