L’Ape del Fritto — Restaurant in San Vincenzo

Superb street food shop wich offered delicious fried seafood such as Baccala, Calamari and “fish and chips” which were all really good. There is some seating but the norm is to take it with you. They serve a multitude of drinks and have friendly and outgoing staff. For us it was a Deus Ex Machina: we had been looking all over town for somewhere to eat finding no one who could seat us (admittedly our fault since we went during “rush hour”). After being rejected by our last ditch attempt at the “beer garden” type restaurant across the street we ended up dissatisfied and hungry. Luckily we realized that the big red arrow was indeed not part of the candy shop next door but rather it’s own enterprise. We ordered our food, sipping on some cold beer while waiting and then proceeded to have a delectable meal of all types of fried seafood treats. All the while we watched swathes of locals come and go. Listening to the fun music our meal passed in a jiffy. In conclusion I could say that this is quite the gem of a find. Especially for those in need of a meal on a stuffed Saturday night. 10/10...

Tourist trap: costoso e non buono. Si tratta di un'ape parcheggiata a bordo strada che vende fritto di pesce fatto sul momento. L idea sembrerebbe carina, uno si aspetta fritto quantomeno buonino, dato che fatto sul momento, ed economico dato che è un'apina e non un locale. Invece per una vaschetta di totani per 2 persone abbiamo speso quasi 30 euro. Dici, sarà freschissimo e te lo puoi andare a mangiare sul mare, vale la pena anche se caro. Ma il pesce era gommoso, la pastella del fritto molle anche se appena fatto e per finire aveva un retrogusto di pesce che si avviava ad andare a male, ne abbiamo mangiato solo metà per paura di sentirci male (cosa per fortuna non successa). Ottima alternativa, tra i tanti locali in zona, per mangiarsi una frittura abbondante, preparata davanti ai propri occhi, ad un prezzo più che competitivo; la mia compagna ed io siamo rimasti colpiti quando abbiamo visto arrivare le nostre vaschette strabordanti di calamari e ciuffi di tentacoli caldi e fragranti. Buono anche il Fish and Chips, con bocconcini di Baccalà di buona qualità; un po' scomodo il contenitore da passeggio se ci si siede al tavolo.
