Bar Jolly — Restaurant in Sant'Agnello

Walked in here on a whim, but what I found was much more important - these people care about the wellbeing of their customers. After a stressful train experience and walking in a downpour of rain, my friend and I walked into Bar Joly for two things: 1) a place to sit and 2) somewhere to get a signal.

I immediately went to the counter to order a cornetto so we could use their facilities. Of course, the croissant was zesty, sugary and filled with marmalade. I loved it.

We got to chatting with the bartender and a woman who turned out to be the bartender’s mother. She asked what we were doing in sorrento and explained to her that we were trying to find a taxi to our hotel but couldn’t get one. Immediately and without hesitation, she offered to take us. She ran to fetch the vehicle and we began chatting with her son and her father, who gave us some tips on what’s good around the coast. Tried to watch the match here and were told that it was fully booked despite being completely empty and there not being a single ‘reserved’ sign on a table. Good thing too as the TV’s were clearly illegally streamed (very bad quality) and the staff looked completely miserable. Enjoy losing out...
