La Gustoteca Food Wine & Beer is an absolute gem in Sant’Agnello. I normally don’t write reviews but I literally wanted to spread the love and care that the cook puts into every single one of her dishes. After a long vacation, I am very happy to have been able to walk in and meet the people who work here. This food was the best I’ve had. It’s not a typical tourist trap. This is food that makes you feel like family and the cook literally made me feel at home. The first day (Sunday) we were in the area, we had the brazino (sea bass), fried zucchini blossoms, prosciutto and Buffalo cheese bruschette, pasta with smoked swordfish tomatoes and olives. All were delicious. We were treated with a nice shot of homemade limoncello which hit the spot! We were able to have a good conversation with the family and it just showed the passion they have for the business and the people. When we came back on Tuesday, we tried out the very tasty Mediterranean Roma style dishes. These dishes were eggplant and chicken in a sauce cooked with locally grown peppers. You can tell how happy the cook was that we were trying the specialities. We went back to the bruschette and tried a couple of different pasta dishes. The carbonara and the oricchiette. Both were excellent. If I can give this place more stars for a review I would. The wine selection had something for everyone as the man is also a sommelier. There are meals for everyone. You can’t beat the quality especially for the affordable prices. I highly recommend everybody to give this place a visit. I am positive they will treat you with the same love and respect as they did for me. Until next time! Also, the cook is on the right in the picture! Make sure to say hello! She...
Read moreWe ate here recently while staying nearby in Sant'Agnello.
The gentleman serving us was accommodating and professional. The kitchen is open to view at one side of the dining area so you can see the staff preparing some seriously good food.
We ordered a premium cutting board which was made up of some of the best charcuterie I've had. Meats, cheeses and spreads that were selected and prepared with care. An array of pecorino cheeses and dried salami of great and varying flavor were paired with 3 different jams infused with ingredients that gave each of them a complex taste.
We also ordered a fish carpaccio and shrimp tartare plate that was very fresh and came with some lemon and herb infused ice cream that was a great complement to the seafood.
I ordered a few glasses of wine which were poured for me using a Coravin system, a sign to me that they are serious about how they handle wine here.
This was definitely a food highlight in our trip, you can tell they put some serious love into the food here. Absolutely...
Read moreThis little restaurant serves simple local authentic Italian Cuisine (not a pizzeria). Great place to avoid touristy restaurants. It’s quiet and cozy place. We loved our experience here as each dish is curated for different parts of Italy, had decent amount of vegetarian options. Everything was sooooo delicious, highly recommend this place - we had the bottle of local white wine, salad, 2 bruschettas, ravioli pasta, dessert, cafe at the end. The restaurant even made us this ravioli pasta which was not in the menu to give us an extra option. The white wine served was so yummmy, it well with pre-appetizer , appetizers and main dish. For Dessert, we had the lemon sorbet, indeed great end to experience. We unfortunately didn’t take...
