Incredible food, wine, location and service. The family, who has been running this hotel since the 1800s, went beyond and above to make our stay enjoyable and unforgettable. And they succeeded wonderfully. ||The hotel is at the top of SantâAmbrogio, in a small village surrounded by vines from where you have a stunning view of the valley as well as Lake Garda. ||The rooms are spacious and clean. The authentic style given by the furniture, specially the large wooden bed, is very enjoyable.||At breakfast, we were served local and fresh products on the terrace outside. The coffee, charcuterie, cheese and homemade jam were to die for. When the plate was empty (it was each time quickly the case), they always ask if we wanted more. We couldnât have asked for a better way to start the day. ||In the evening, we had a wine tasting along the dinner with local Amarone, Ripasso and a sweet wine made in the village. The son of the owner, who speaks perfect English, took the time to explain in details the story behind each selection. And we learned a lot about the grapes and process of the region. He also recommended us some great wineries to visit.||The food was splendid as the wine. Everything was fresh, local and/or homemade. Since we didnât know what to choose, he concocted us a menu with several of their dishes that would best match each of the wine we were tasting. The truffle gnocchi is really a must if it is on the carte when you visit! ||This has been the highlight of our Italian road trip. And we canât wait...

Read moreDalla Rosa has been in the Rosa family hands for many generations dating from 1800s, and offers a wonderful experience in a very beautiful setting high above the surrounding vineyards. The circuitous, twisting road up to this little village called San Giorgio is a treat, and affords amazing views of the surrounding countryside while building your curiosity at what lies around the next hairpin curve.. ||This hotel while many years old is very well constructed and maintained, and it has been renovated to high standards. The owners and staff are very welcoming and appreciative of your visit. Senior Rosa pointed out a beautiful panoramic walk (about 2k) along a country road that affords an even more spectacular view of Lake Garda and treats you with fresh waterfalls flowing from the base of the Dolomite range. ||After my walk I was relaxing on the back patio, visiting with other guests, while Senior Rosa treated us to glasses of Valpollicella and some kitchen fresh grissini. Very relaxing and welcoming.||That night dinner was superb with a beautiful 2006 Amarone suggested by one of the younger Rosaâs. Breakfast was also a treat including excellent local specialty of Valpollicella infused breakfast cake baked in a large metal tin.||I would highly recommend the Dalla Rosa a base to explore this beautiful region on north-eastern Italy just a short drive north of Verona. There an amazing array of sights to see or to just enjoy...
