Camping Comelico Pizzeria Alla Baita — Restaurant in Santo Stefano di Cadore

About the restaurant: I wonder if the staff was in a racist mood the day before yesterday. Just like the review before me (from Marcin from Poland) they didn't want to serve us. During the day I had asked if we needed to make reservations for the night, that wasn't necessary. So we went to the restaurant in the evening. First we were asked (in Italian, they didn't speak English) to come back 30 min later and when I did, I couldn't get take away pizza. First they said there was a problem with the kitchen. When I mentioned that there was just a guy walking out of the restaurant with pizza boxes, they suddenly said the restaurant was full, even though there were still many empty tables. We were staying at the campground, next to the restaurant, and when I was back at our spot (without pizza) we still saw many camping guests (Italians) going up to the restaurant and also a few coming back with pizza boxes. Thanks to the restaurant staff for teaching our 3 year old son, who was very much looking forward to eat pizza, a lesson about racism. If I could give you minus stars, I would, one is...

Campeggio molto bello e curato. Tanti posti per tende, camper e roulottes. Prezzi molto ragionevoli. Personale fantastico e cordiale :) I bagni pulitissimi, la pulizia almeno 3 volte al giorno, anche di sera. Circondato dai boschi, montagne, vicino al fiume. Ci sono i contatori di elettricità quindi paghi quello che consumi (mai visto prima in Italia :). Un grazie caloroso a Voi che ci state lavorando e curate questo posto!! :) // Very nice and well-kept campsite. Lots of places for tents, campers and caravans. Very reasonable prices. Fantastic and friendly staff :) Very clean bathrooms, cleaning services at least 3 times a day, even in the evening. Surrounded by forests, mountains, near the river. There are electricity meters so you pay what you consume (never seen before in Italy :). A warm thanks to you who are working there and taking care of this place !! :) // Bardzo ładny i zadbany kemping. Wiele miejsc na namioty, kampery i przyczepy kempingowe. Bardzo przystępne ceny. Fantastyczna i miła obsługa :) Łazienki nieskazitelne, sprzątanie minimum 3 razy dziennie, nawet wieczorem. Otoczony lasami, górami, blisko rzeki. Są liczniki energii elektrycznej, więc płacisz za to, co zużywasz (nigdy wcześniej nie widzialam we Włoszech :)....

Sono qui ogni anno ed ogni anno purtroppo i problemi sono sempre gli stessi. Tempi lunghi di attesa (anche 45min), pizze troppo sottili che basta un nulla e si bruciano sotto e sopra, Coca-Cola alla spina ed in bottiglietta (che arriva già aperta) troppo annacquata. Ma ci sono anche dei pro... il personale è gentile ed il posto è accogliente ed immerso nel verde con annesso campeggio. Ci sono giochi all'esterno per i più piccoli ma anche per i più grandi come il ping-pong ed il calcio balilla.

Da dire anche che il posto è pulito e forse uno dei pochi, se non l'unico della zona dove valga davvero la pena mangiare... sia come prezzi sia come cortesia e pulizia.

Il locale é sempre pieno, soprattutto nei weekend e la sera e quindi consiglio di prenotare con largo anticipo!

Ahhh, dimenticavo, buone le birre scure e soprattutto la loro straordinaria grappa al fieno introvabile da nessuna altra parte (l'ho cercata ovunque)!!
