Rifrullo — Restaurant in Scansano

What a discover! On our way back from Saturnia this place catch my attention (thanks to the high score on Google - well deserved by the way) and we decided to stop for dinner. The menu is so interesting, they offer some daily's but also regular dishes from the menu, for example their tortellone, a stuffed big tortello with your favourite sauce on top. I haven't personally tried it cause I got captured by some delicious pici with pumpkin, sausage and cheese sauce (omg!!!) but my parents did and it was great! I would also suggest to try an amazing sausage with rocket and fresh truffles as starter!! And the ricotta cream for dessert with pistachio sauce is also sublime! The staff did a great job, being very friendly with us and suggesting us some dishes to try (or their home made grappa!). Overall it was the best conclusion of a nice weekend in Tuscany! I visited this restaurant twice and had the Fiorentina steak on both occasions — it was absolutely outstanding. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and served with excellent side dishes. I also enjoyed a great house red wine, which complemented the meal wonderfully. The dessert, especially the tiramisu, was exceptional — one of the best I’ve ever had.

While I didn’t try other dishes myself, I saw several being served and they all looked very appetizing. The service is another highlight — relaxed, friendly, and highly engaged. I believe the person serving us was the owner, who was fantastic at recommending dishes and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

My lord! The talent in this kitchen is unmatched. We ordered the special… a rabbit cooked with who knows what… and let me tell you. It was the best thing I have ever had. So delicious, I almost ordered a second! The polenta, the fried squash blossom, the ravioli and the Tuscan bean soup was fantastic!!! I cried when I saw the bill… so affordable!!! I almost want to stay an extra day so I can eat again at this incredible restaurant. But tomorrow we bike to Montepulciano. If you stop in Scansano… this place is a must… and please make...
