Cantine De Gregorio — Restaurant in Sciacca

We have not only been for many amazing dinners over the last few years, but recently made the very intelligent decision to choose this as our wedding venue in September just gone. Seeing it as a restaurant for daily/evening service is impressive enough, the venue is gorgeous and the food absolutely infallible every time, but the service we got for our wedding was so above and beyond what we could have hoped for. A super special shout out to Barbara who was just so incredible in every way it makes me emotional. This year alone she had over 35 weddings to organise and there was never any moment she didn’t feel like our own personal wedding planner. She was just there for us whenever we needed her. We felt like absolute royalty. The food and wine was divine, the setting was something out of a fairy tale and the day was so seamless. I cannot recommend this place enough, whether you’re looking for a gorgeous meal for date night, your own wedding venue, or just a beautiful spot for a glass of fabulous wine from a family run spot, you couldn’t find a better place. This will forever have a place in my heart and I can’t sing it’s praises enough. Five stars isn’t enough!! Thank you so much...

Looking at the reviews and the leaflet at our accommodation I'm sure it's a great place, but we didn't even get in. So sharing this to help avoid similar experiences in the future - wouldn't take much effort.

Listed as open from 7:30 on Mondays on Google, so we arrived at that time and found the parking open. No other cars, but hey, we might have been early. Started walking down the path towards the cantine only to see 2 huge dogs roaming free and starting in our direction. Didn't take our chances with 2 kids, made it back to the car and left.

We tried calling beforehand various times to book and also after getting back to the car, but the line alternated between no connection and ringing without being answered.

So, my recommendation for such a nice looking place: please save people the hassle and update the opening times on Google, it takes 5 minutes. Also, a message on the phone doesn't take much, or a CLOSED sign at parking or on the gate on days you are closed.

We came for dinner here and found the place to be an oasis of sophisticated charm ans great food and wine. Let's gloss over the terrible roads in Sicily which make getting anywhere off the beaten track quite arduous, but that's another story. Once you arrive at the tree lined entrance you know you're in for a treat. We chose the degustation menu with wine pairings, the food: arancini, lobster pasta, sea bass was so lovely and well presented. The best food I've had on this trip. But the dessert was even better! Absolutely amazing.. The wine paring with each course was considered, interesting and generous. The house Magarìa chardonnay was awesome. I had a glass of their Nero Rosso which was so good I bought a bottle home with us. The service was impeccable as was the surroundings. We were so taken with the wines and ambience, to our shame we intended but nwvwr left a tip! :( The whole degustation menu with wine parings was only €50 per head....
