Trattoria La Corallina — Restaurant in Sciacca

This restaurant does not disappoint, in fact, I think it exceeds the Google reviews which I read before coming. The ambience, service, and food are all fabulous. The owner graced us with olive oil which was freshly made, and it quite possibly was THE best olive oil that I have ever had, I would recommend making a reservation. We were lucky to get a table on the beautiful patio, because we showed up a couple minutes after they opened, so were very fortunate to get a table without a reservation. We decided to visit Trattoria La Corallina after seeing the many excellent reviews, but our experience was unfortunately not what we expected. The fish was fine but rather ordinary, and the pasta with shrimp was far too salty, which made it difficult to enjoy. The local wine we tried also felt too heavy for a hot summer evening — we were hoping for something lighter and more refreshing.

While we can see why some guests may appreciate the place, for us the food and wine did not live up to the high ratings.

Another detail that surprised us was the fixed €3 fee per person added to the bill. It felt a bit like tips included, which is not so common in many parts of Europe. It would be helpful if this was communicated more...

Ok, so, spent an awesome day with the Mrs at San Marco’s beach. We headed back to our hotel and thought of getting lost a bit and exploring the neighborhood. We found this hidden gem! This place deserves a Michelin Stars. Hands down Michelin Stars. From the food, the atmosphere the AMAAAAAAAZING service and the clean amenities, it’s just out of this world! Made my decision so easy to retire and live in Sicily simply for having outstanding amazing experiences on daily basis. Seems it’s run by a nice family, very clean, neat and full of love.
