I have been traveling around the world, going to amazing restaurants recommended on sites such as CNN Condenaste Traveller for years. I must say, “Bros Tratoria” in Puglia was one of the worst dining experiences in my life. And its embarrassing that you keep them on your lists. We arrived for our reservation at 8.30pm a table of 7 adults and 2 children to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday on our last night of our trip in Puglia. Everything was caos from the second we arrived, all the tables were complaining, but we went with the flow. They built a table for us since they didn’t have it ready, although we had confirmed the reservation 3 times. There was no service, no kitchen coming out of the food. After one hour we stood up and went to grab our wine ourselves, and went to grab bread for our table. We kept insisting if they could please just bring any pasta for the two younger kids that were starving. After 2 hours of being at the restaurant, we still had eaten nothing but bread. The head chef arrived since she was called in due to the caos the restaurant was experience. Isabella showed up, so I came up to talk to her. Asked her if at least we could just get pasta for the kids. It took another 40 minutes for those pasta dishes for the kids to come. At this point it was 10.45pm. There was no food coming out for the adults, I went back to the kitchen to speak to Isabella, asked her if she had any idea when we would possibly be able to eat to which she responded “I unfortunately don’t have an estimate of how long it will take”. At this point, 3 hours into the most horrific dining experience of our lives, and starving. We decided to stand up and leave. We tipped the waiters who had been kind, two of them were crying, one had a panic attack because of the mistreatment he was receiving from the kitchen. It was all one huge disaster. Isabella never apologized, I sent a message via whatsapp following up on our experience and how they ruined our final night and my mothers birthday and they did not even respond. I don’t care how many Michelin stars you have, if you cannot serve a pasta dish in 3 hours you and your establishment are a complete disaster. What is funny, is that the whole restaurant was having the same experience, the table next to us stood up and left also without eating. I highly recommend you try ANY OTHER restaurant in Puglia because there are amazing ones. This is by far the worst I have ever encountered anywhere...
Read moreIt was an amazing lunch we enjoyed today. Rosalinda warmly greeted us in the courtyard and lead us to a lovely table on the porch where we ordered the three course lunch. The first course was five plentiful veg dishes, fresh ricotta, luscious meatballs, and the best bread I’ve had in a long while - all served family style. Rosalinda recommended a perfectly paired organic rose for our first course and a luscious Negroamaro for our pasta course. It too was delicious. We were all very full but could not resist desserts - incredible homemade ice creams, and excellent chocolate torte. This lunch was really memorable and what made it a truly exceptional experience was the attentive, professional yet playful service of Rosalinda. I highly recommend making the trip to experience a...
Read moreA really amazing experience. First the approach and garden are beautifully done and lit up. We were greeted at the gate and welcomed with a delicious sweet drink. The food is traditional but done so perfectly it really represents the best of the region. I won't list everything but it was all very good - a couple of highlights were the fresh bread and local olive oil, spaggetoni Al forne and a ricotta cake at the end that was so delicate it was one of the Bart deserts I've ever had.
Finally the service was fantastic z everyone was so friendly and at the end everyone form the kitchen came to say goodbye. We went for a family birthday and wanted a special evening, we...
