Vinoteca Centro Storico — Restaurant in Serralunga d'Alba

A must visit!

Where do we begin. Over the course of 8 or 9 days we dined here 3 times, once for dinner, and twice for lunch. We can't say enough positive things about the legendary Vinoteca Centro Storico. We first visited in September, and again during our trip back to Langhe earlier this month. Alessio and Stephy are 2 of our favorite people in Langhe. They're kind, genuine, and have a great sense of humor. The food is consistently incredible, and the wine list is extremely extensive, with a huge by the glass selection, this is a must-visit for any wine lover visiting the area. The hams are hand sliced by Alessio himself, and are the best we've encountered anywhere in the world. Be sure to try the new homemade gelato, it's delicious! Be sure to make a reservation, because seating fills up very quickly, even for lunch. We look forward to returning...

Ci siamo recati da Vinoteca Centro Storico, locale situato a Serralunga d’Alba. Abbiamo trovato questo ristorante per caso, stavamo cercando un posto in cui cenare (essendo di passaggio nella zona), e ci siamo imbattuti in questa Vinoteca. Il locale è diviso in due piani, entrambi però molto piccoli e poco spaziosi. Gli interni sono classici e caratteristici, molto belli e tipici della zona. Essendo una tavolata grande ci hanno fatto accomodare al secondo piano. Come detto gli spazi erano molto piccoli, di conseguenza non ci si riusciva bene a muovere e si era praticamente attaccati alle altre persone del tavolo. Nonostante questo però siamo comunque riusciti a cenare senza alcun problema. L’interno è abbastanza rumoroso, non troppo però calcolando gli spazi ridotti. Come piatto principale ho ordinato un sottofiletto di fassona, accompagnato da delle patate al forno e verdure. La carne era qualcosa di sensazionale, ti si scioglieva in bocca, il suo gusto invece era formidabile, una delle carni migliori che abbia mai mangiato. I contorni invece erano nella norma, molto buoni. Da bere invece abbiamo ordinato del vino rosso (una nota positiva è la carta dei vini lunghissima che hanno a disposizione, davvero formidabile). Il servizio non è stato velocissimo, però posso capire che essendo una tavolata grande ci sia voluto diverso tempo per preparare le cose. Mi sono trovato comunque benissimo, il cibo era davvero spettacolare e il personale è stato molto cordiale e simpatico....

The host was really unfriendly and derogatory towards his customers. The primi were really nice and tasty, the second however not so much: steak was bland, the potatoes were overfried and the chicken had little meat. The lunch was included in our Vespa tour, as this should have been a good restaurant but we overpaid way too much (we should have had a fixed price) and we did not have a pleasant experience at all, we never...
