Das helle modern eingerichtete Restaurant mit Straßenterrasse im Zentrum von Solarino wirbt mit frischer schnörkelloser Regionalküche. Diesem Anspruch wird der sympathische Koch und Besitzer in jeder Hinsicht gerecht. Er berät die Gäste freundlich bei der Auswahl der Gerichte und erklärt die Zubereitung der Speisen. Die wechselnde Menükarte bietet eine Auswahl an regionalen Gerichten, die ausnahmslos frisch zubereitet werden - Sie können den Koch in der offenen Küche dabei beobachten. Die Preisgestaltung ist erfreulich günstig - kein Vergleich zu den touristenverwöhnten Restaurants in Syrakus. Wir haben fantastisch schmeckende Gnocchiette mit Möhren und Gorgonzola-Orangensoße probiert. Vorsicht! Die haben einen hohen Suchtfaktor. Auch die Orecchiette mit Pesto Trapanese waren ein leckeres Beispiel für sizilianische Landküche. Die Primi hatten bereits eine deutliche Sättigungswirkung. Die folgenden Secondi waren ebenfalls kulinarische Highlights: Die frischen Miesmuscheln aus Syrakus, die mit Knoblauch und Ingwer zubereitet wurden, waren die Besten, die wir als Muschelfreunde jemals probiert hatten: Größe, Konsistenz und Geschmack waren einfach sensationell! Der Klassiker Tagliata die Manzo wurde aus 21 Tage gereiftem zartem regionalem Rindfleisch vom Grill zubereitet. Fleischgenuß pur, der mit Olivenöl, Zitrone und grobem Meersalz perfektioniert wurde. Der Preis von 13,- Euro für 350 Gramm Premium-Fleisch war sehr günstig. Uns hat die Wohlfühlatmosphäre , der gastfreundliche Koch und die typische Landküche mit ihren puren Aromen so gut gefallen, daß wir in den nächsten Tagen erneut dieses untouristische Restaurant besuchen werden. We came here without a reservation - it was still too early and they said that we are able to dine within the hour. Whilst we were outside deciding if we should dine there or find a different restaurant, A man (whom I assume is the owner/chef) came and asked us to come wait inside whilst they cleaned up the restaurant -since it was too cold to stay outside. He was super friendly, gave colours and a colouring book to my daughter and he spoke great English. Honestly, he was super friendly and made the experience a wonderful one! This is a restaurant worth travelling to eat at. We enjoyed everything from the moment we walked in the door. The food was simple, clear and perfect. We could taste every ingredient and they all sat nicely together. Cost to value in terms of quality and service it would be hard to do better than this. The service was beyond hospitable and we spent very little for what we received. This is not always easy to find.
