La Cantina del Poggiaccio — Restaurant in Sovicille

Quick response from the restaurant 2 days before a dinner booking for 17 people was great. Table was ready when we arrived to this lovely spot. Food came out in batches so we didn’t all get to eat at the same time, which wasn’t a huge deal but some meals were totally forgotten to be brought out. Group felt the food was good, about 7/10. We ordered pizza, pastas, streak, salads. We had to ask service a few times for updates on various dishes - when could we expect them. Service was friendly but maybe not as efficient as could be. Menus felt grubby. Bathroom waste baskets were overflowing. Seemed to be just one chef in the kitchen? 8 people out of 17 got severe food poisoning. After letting the restaurant know, they texted back saying that had never happened at their establishment and no other guests reported anything (as of 10am the next morning). It’s not late in afternoon, have still not received even a single “apologies for your experience”, or “how might we make this right”. A simple sorry would have gone a long way and would have kept me from writing about our disastrous...

We’re staying in another agriturismo so we would like to eat somewhere else and we have found this very nice place for dinner. We found out that last night was the last night opening for dinner for the season. The waiter was really friendly and explained a lot about their products , the wine and the olive oil they make. Good English spoken as well. The food was amazing :) fresh , pasta was really good . Their homemade bread with their own olive oil very lovely. If we come back to tuscany we really come back here . Food is great, all we ate was awesome, I loved the ambiance and what really made the difference and made us come back again and again was Anna our server; I cannot tell you how wonderful and patient she was to us, she remembered us when we went back and offered great recommendations based on what we liked. I want to put her in my pocket and bring her with me everywhere… 😄BEST SERVICE EVER! Definitively...
