Osteria La Montagnola Tegoia — Restaurant in Sovicille

Terrible experience. We were turned away even though the restaurant was half empty. They only told us it was “fully booked” after realizing we spoke English — clearly they just didn’t want to deal with foreigners. The staff barely spoke English and couldn’t be bothered to even try. On top of that, the parking area is extremely steep and only suitable for small cars. Absolutely unwelcoming and disappointing....

Era la prima volta che ci venivo e, nonostante ci abbiamo messo un po’ per arrivarci, devo dire che ne è valsa veramente la pena! Il locale è molto carino, ma soprattutto si mangia molto molto bene. Dei primi, consiglio gli gnocchi al tartufo perché si sente che sono fatti da loro (si sciolgono letteralmente in bocca) e non hanno quella consistenza industriale, e soprattutto la salsa al tartufo era speciale. Anche gli spaghetti del colono molto buoni, per gli amanti della pasta con la panna. Poi abbiamo preso la carne fritta e lo spezzatino di cinghiale. Il cinghiale buono ma non eccelso, ma il fritto….. ne avrei mangiato a quintali. A me personalmente non piace l’agnello, ma come lo fanno loro è spaziale. Poi anche la panatura era perfetta e fritta molto bene perché non era per niente unto e soprattutto non rimaneva pesante. In sintesi, eravamo in 9 e abbiamo preso: 3 vassoi di primi, un po’ di cinghiale e tanto tanto fritto accompagnato da altrettante verdure (ovviamente fritte), oltre ai dolci, vino, acqua e caffè, abbiamo speso 35€ a testa. Prezzo più che onesto per la quantità e soprattutto la qualità del cibo. Oltretutto personale super...

Nice view and decent food. Dishes - especially pasta - were good. Nothing special, but you won't make a mistake. The deep fried meat and vegetables felt rather simplistic - I have eaten better for the same money in other places in Tuscany. It would rather recommend it for a light lunch to enjoy the view... Parking is available - which is helpful in this...
