Ristorante La Corte dei Principi — Restaurant in Spadafora

Fantastic local restaurant run by the Maiorana family - mum is the hostess, dad is chef, son Federico is the super helpful and personable server. Specialty is Sicilian fish and seafood. Located in a small village in the hills above Spadafora, there is lots of free parking a few hundred meters from the restaurant. The signage on the road in Spadafora is small and easily missed so check your Google Maps directions carefully. There is no set menu, rather, the chef will make seasonally available dishes. Federico speaks very fluent English and is really helpful with his suggestions of food and wine pairings. We chose the "tasting" starter - 6 small dishes of fish and seafood prepared in different ways - then each had a "primi" suggested by Federico paired with a great locally produced white wine. We were too full to have a secondi course so shared a homemade light lemon sorbet and a Lemoncello to help us digest. Federico explained each dish as it was brought out, telling us about the region and history of each one. The view from the terrace looking over the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Aeolian Islands is beautiful. This is such a relaxing, unassuming, family-run restaurant and a true Sicilian dining experience!

Elaborate culinary experience with numerous raw fish appetizers, with a sophisticated presentation. Particularly delicious the baccala in a double presentation and the superb arancini al nero di seppia.The service was attentive and dishes were at the correct temperature. The outside patio has a view over the surrounding hills, the sea and the Aeolian Islands. Located within a village, access roads are narrow and twisting. Parking is a challenge unless you have experience and can squeeze in tight spots. Highly recommended. This restaurant was incredible for us. Staff was very kind and guy who was like supervisor or something like that explained us everything and recommend delicious food. We had appetizer tasting - very interesting fish and seafood selection. Main dishes were oerfect also.
