Osteria Borgoluce — Restaurant in Susegana

The initial experience was very upsetting. We arrived at 7:55pm for dinner and asked for a table for two. Someone that appeared to be the owner looked on us and said no. We looked at each other and looked on our watches...then looked back on him. After standing there, he looked back on us and said to give him a second. We stood at the entrance for about 3-5 minutes while others were being served. Shortly after we were given a seat inside. We observed other large groups being seated shortly after. I read all the reviews before choosing this restaurant and made sure to arrive early so as to avoid this. Anyway, we tried to make the best of the situation. The food was tasty. The wine was okay. I wasn't fond of the chocolate cake. All in all, if we were greeted and treated with some respect I would definitely recommend guests to visit. Fresh mozzarella from Borgoluce’s own buffalo farm. I probably don’t need to say more. But there is more: fresh mozzarella, deep fried. Fresh ham. Divine beef. And all in one of the most romantic settings I have seen in the Prosecco region. If you’re after simple, but flavourful locally produced food, book a table at Borgoluce’s Osteria. Rooms available (thought at a different part of the Borgoluce estate).

Highlights:

Has it’s own accommodation, a natural swimming pool, walking/cycle paths, a restaurant (Farm Osteria) and a farm shop. Also produces its own buffalo mozzarella, honey, olive oils, cured meats and beer. Possible to do a joint produce and Prosecco/wine tasting at the winery, or simply pick up a couple of bottles from the farm shop and enjoy them during your stay. Siamo andati per una cena romantica di compleanno prenotando anche una camera in foresteria . Dal sito non é chiaro che la foresteria sia lontana dal ristorante , altrimenti non avrei prenotato , giacché l'idea era di godere di una serata rilassante con cena e vino e non dover prendere la macchina per tornare a casa. Ad ogni modo , nonostante il personale ad una prima occhiata mi sembrasse più ironico che interessato a risolvere il problema , tranne poi la nostra addetta al tavolo che ci ha portato un biglietto da visita con cartina per spiegarci la strada , ci siamo fermati a cena . Il cibo e il vino sono di buona qualità, il ristorante semplice e accogliente , la vista suppongo splendida ma c'era nebbia , il prezzo da ristorante non da osteria ma si spenderebbe volentieri se il servizio fosse attento (alcune pietanze riscaldate sommariamente ad esempio) . Una volta usciti , col navigatore che perdeva la linea poiché i telefoni avevano entrambi poca ricezione , i 15 min di macchina per arrivare in foresteria (veniamo da venezia e siamo arrivati in 40 min) sono diventati 25 . Vabbé ridiamoci su. Quando siamo arrivati la foresteria , location molto carina , era chiusa , suonando nessuno ha aperto , telefonando nessuna risposta . Quando ci hanno richiamati ci hanno detto che pensavano fossimo stati contattati da una fantomatica collega che ci avrebbe dovuto avvisare che sarebbero arrivati dopo altri 15 min . Uscivamo dal loro ristorante , i colleghi li avevamo davanti agli occhi e nessuno ha detto nulla. Preciso fossero le 21 , non notte fonda . Come un flash ho pensato che in fase di prenotazione al telefono mi fosse stato detto che la domenica fossero pieni e che quindi mi avrebbero dato non una matrimoniale ma una doppia con letti singoli per non doverli unire e poi separare ...lí per lí mi é sembrato che avessero eliminato il problema alla radice. Le serie di sfortunati eventi possono succedere , sicuramente i ragazzi andranno migliorando . C'è bisogno di miglior empatia e comunicazione al cliente e tra di loro....
