Ristorante Il Faraone — Restaurant in Syracuse

BEWARE: I will start with the bad. They serve fish that you choose from a table which will be weighed in by the kilo. We choose the fish and they took it away to cook. When fish came back, the owner's wife placed it on our plates and prepared it to be served. At the same time, they took some fish and put it on another plate. This plate was served to local family seated next to us. Essentially, the kid next table got free fish. We were celebrating friend's birthday and decided not to make the scene.

This was not the most pleasant experience and I would not recommend the restaurant based on that.

Very slow service. Rather small portions - I've never seen smaller pasta dishes. Food was fine, though unremarkable and way overpriced. 21 euros for two plain calimari. 15 euros for the smallest sea bass you've ever seen, which they took off the bone and then (unasked) poured olive oil all over so you couldn't taste the fish. Are you paying for the view? If so, there are better, cheaper, less pretentious places with the same view, further along the bay. Try Zio Argentino,...

Il 13 luglio 2022 per noi è stato quel giorno...indimenticabile, magico... La bellezza del luogo non ha eguali ed è il riflesso della bellezza del cuore di Mario e Tiziana che lo gestiscono con passione e professionalità; la bontà del cibo è il riflesso dell'abilità dello chef che ha preparato per l'occasione delle specialità dal sapore unico; l'eleganza del contesto è il riflesso di tutti coloro che lavorano come un squadra per la perfetta riuscita dell'evento. Dal primo incontro con Mario e Tiziana abbiamo subito deciso che questo sarebbe stato il luogo del nostro matrimonio, perché entrambi ci hanno accolto e ci hanno fatto sentire "a casa". Nella libertà delle nostre scelte, Mario ha saputo sempre guidarci, consigliandoci al meglio, fino al giorno del nostro matrimonio. Il Faraone è diventato un luogo a noi caro che ci è entrato nel cuore, e che ci ha regalato la possibilità di vivere il giorno più bello della nostra vita. Grazie di cuore a tutti...
