Il Leone d’Oro - Hotel Ristorante Pizzeria- NUOVA GESTIONE 20/01/2026 — Restaurant in Telgate

We were on our way back to UK when our car developed a fault. Our Breakdown insurance rescued us and put us in this place late but the 3 of us were served food. We were exhausted and were not paying much attention until the food arrived. Oh my goodness, my wife and I had pasta Cabanara and our son had Tuna.

Hang on, this food is really nice.

Bad news they couldn’t fix the car, the good news we were to stay here for another night so we eat early in the large main restaurant.

I’m not a burger sort of person but the Burger they have sounded interesting, my wife had pulled pork and our son went for the Tuna again.

I am 64 years of age, with my work and family vacations, Mainly to Italy I have eat in many places.

This place was something else, my burger was the best ever and my New York Cheese Cake was nothing like I have tried before.

We all agreed the food here is FANTASTIC and why? I found out that this is very much a family run business with 2 of the 3 brothers chefs and everything is made in their kitchens. The bread for the burgers. The pizza dough etc.

These brothers and sister in law should have this restaurant located in Milan or London or Paris.

Their food out performs their location.

I would recommend to anyone, make the effort to stop here and enjoy the food and wine, we will, sadly they were fully booked on our 3rd night so we had to leave.

Well done, just brilliant food worth 5 times what...

Siamo stati in questo ristorante la sera di ferragosto ed eravamo i primi,infatti la pizza è arrivata in un lampo! Non sono qua' per giudicare la pizza, fosse per quella avrei dato 5s perché, a mio parere era veramente spettacolare, farcita nel modo giusto non bruciata e il condimento con alimenti di qualità e posso dirlo visto che ho fatto 16 anni il pizzaiolo. Non voglio giudicare nemmeno il prezzo che può sembrare non giustificato visto quanto costano gli ingredienti per farla, alla fine è un diritto del titolare decidere il prezzo del proprio prodotto e se a qualcuno non va bene, può sempre andare altrove!! Veniamo alle note NEGATIVE:non esiste che io debba aspettare 15 minuti in piedi all'entrata, solamente perché la signora che accoglie i clienti da la precedenza alle telefonate in arrivo piuttosto che ai clienti che a difronte, oltretutto parlandomi ad intermittenza, lo ritengo (poco educato) a sto punto assumete un call center!!! Secondo punto, non vedo perché una persona debba avere per forza uno smartphone altrimenti non può scaricare il menù... Conosco gente che hanno ancora il cellulare tradizionale, soprattutto gli anziani... cos'è loro non hanno diritto di mangiare?! sarebbe sufficente avere ANCORA il menù cartaceo, come del resto la maggior parte delle pizzerie(l'abbiamo chiesto e non lo hanno). Terza nota dolente, la mia ragazza ed io abbiamo ordinato il dessert, precisamente, il COCCO PASSION lei e il TORTINO PESCA, RICOTTA e CIOCCOLATO BIANCO io,aspettati 20 minuti(si fa prima ad ordinare la pizza) totalmente SBAGLIATI!!!! Il mio era un PATETICO muffin asciutto dove non c'era l'ombra ne della pesca ne del cioccolato bianco, 2/3 rispedito al mittente! Lei, doveva avere il cioccolato fondente, il dolce era giallo e bianco... ma scusate il fondente non è nero?! 🤔 L'abbiamo fatto presente alla cameriera(bionda non molto alta, con un accento straniero) , anzi....se né accorta da sola, dicendoci che l'avrebbe fatto presente!!! Arrivati alla cassa per pagare il conto, (secondo quello che ha detto il titolare come risposta in una recensione) avrebbe dovuto chiederci""TUTTO BENE" invece no, pagato e tanti saluti!! Mi viene un dubbio 🤔, gli è stato riferito del dolce e non sapeva come comportarsi oppure non è per niente vero che si interessa ai clienti chiedendogli com'è andata?! Questa recensione NON vuole assolutamente screditare il ristorante in questione, io per primo continuerò a dire che in questo posto la pizza è buonissima, ma voglio solo far notare che forse c'è qualcosa non impossibile da migliorare, speriamo che la prossima volta...

Restaurant a total rip off. Children didn’t like the sloppy uncooked doughy pizza so ordered them two bowls of plain boiled pasta natural with no sauce or anything and restaurant charged 20euros for those two bowls of pasta! More than the 14euros for the pizzas! Talked to the manager about how ridiculous that was and he explained to me that was the cost! Talk about rip off tourists. They also overcharged the drinks.
