Forsterbräu Trento — Restaurant in Territorio Val d'Adige

I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. I went around 3:00 for a late lunch, and I had to wait at least 15 minutes to be seated, even though the place was not full. When my order was taken, the waitress was rude and I did not feel as if she gave me her attention. I ordered a cheese tasting appetizer and deer lasagna as a main. My appetizer and main course came out at the same time, and the lasagna was cold, with the sauce on top congealed but the pasta itself hard, as if it had been sitting out for a while and had dried out. The cheese tasting was okay, but the lasagna was inedible. The deer tasted of tallow instead of game, and the sauce had an awful texture. I have previously enjoyed deer, so this was a huge disappointment. When I sent my food away and paid, my waitress did not spare even a glance at me. I was really disappointed since this restaurant looked authentic and was so well reviewed. The mustard that came with my pretzel was nice.

Contrary to the proprietor’s response, the issue was not with any language barrier. I spoke in Italian and we had no trouble understanding each other. The issue about the food was...

She took the time to understand my dietary constraints and made personalized recommendations that exceeded my expectations.

Anna suggested the Torta di potato and Ricotta Ravioli, both of which were absolutely delicious and expertly prepared. She also recommended a refreshing non-alcoholic drink, the Fresh Fruit Spritzer, which was perfect for my taste.

As non-native Italians, my companion and I struggled to understand the menu, but Anna patiently explained each dish and ensured we felt comfortable with our choices. Her warm smile and kindness made us feel welcome and at ease.

Mixed feelings… in the matter of Food there is nothing to moan about. Tasty, good seasoned, nice presentation - so if you are looking for good quality for a nice price you should visit. But! Ist not only Food that comes with a good restaurant and the personal and service is a second part of it. Sadly the behavior of personal was a bad part of our experience. A waiter was unfriendly since we sat down, not giving us even enough time to read the menu (which is on the cellphone way too confusing). After we’ve Asked about a minute more time before we order his reaction was sort of: “I am here right now, so what do you want!?” On the other side our Food was delicious and quickly served. At the end the waiter even didn’t bother to come to ask for a desert or with a bill so we had to Pay personally by the counter.
