Albergo Ristorante Bergallo — Restaurant in Tovo San Giacomo

The restaurant offers a great view of the landscape and is clean and friendly on the in and outside.

We had a lot of trouble communicating with some of the waitresses in english, while with some it worked good. The menu was Italian only. Overall we had large difficulties ordering and just generally communicating. I don’t take issue in that though. The issue that I have, is that some of the waitresses were very impatient and bordered rudeness. We felt stressed and left alone through the entire evening and while I don’t expect the staff to speak something other than Italian I had hoped for more patience.

The Ravioli with Truffels tasted good and had good consistency, I loved them. The Filetta die Griglio was not a filet though. It had a lot of excess tendon and fat in it, didn’t have that much taste to it. The potatoes coming with it were drenched in oil, and muddy from it, bad enough that we couldn’t eat them. I don’t know whether that was bad luck - but as of now I’d only recommend pasta dishes.

If you are looking for real Ligurian tastes, well Bergallo is the place to be. Away from seaside touristic restaurants, you will enjoy a family atmosphere moreover the dehor is perfect for hot summer nights, big, well decorated, full of flowers. Food is really genuine and taste so good and the prices are good for any pockets, useless to say that waiters works always with a smile and they are ready to give you hints about best food to try. very beautiful traditional restaurant.Great food, tasty local recipes, clean , social distancing and the locals are welcoming and warm.We visited the place because it was part of a mountain bike tour, and we were all satisfied with the quality and the hospitality.Please support the place like every other place in the area.
