Aquila Reale di Lo Bono Antonino e Nancy — Restaurant in Trabia

I visited the restaurant on “trust”, they have no website and the Facebook page is poorly maintained with subpar pictures of the food. However the few latest reviews showed good signs and i knew the chef there. The food was outstanding: we had a table of 6+ 1 child and CHEF Ivano lo Bosco did his magic! Appetisers of fried specialties (panelle, crocche, arancine and so on), seafood salad, the best mussels with tomato sauce ever eaten, a smoked fish salad with the twist, freshly baked grissini sticks. 3 pasta dishes one better than the other, with the “Solstizio” as my favourite one; super pizza and a tuna steak with a traditional onion agrodolce on top. We were about to explode from joy and full belly.

The restaurant had a loud kids party, but the food silenced everything. The service was very home-feeling but attentive. By mistake they took my son last few spaghetti and they cooked a new portion to apologise.

The restaurant is the typical Sicilian trattoria you wish to find: family run, slightly chaotic, but you can taste their hard work and passion for good food. The warmth of the staff is refreshing, the food will leave you with smiles and memories for a long time. The food is generous and good priced. we left with that feeling of “we must come back!”

Beh cosa dire di questo locale: FANTASTICO! il servizio è meraviglioso: accoglienti, sempre gentili nell'accontentare i tuoi gusti, sempre a disposizione, fanno sentire il cliente a proprio agio. Il locale è stupendo grande e accogliente. Il cibo è favoloso sia che mangiate pizza o fai una cena di carne o di pesce tutto buono, porzioni abbondanti, c'è un equilibrio tra quantità e qualità, ottimo posto per le buone forchette e buongustai. Le pizze sono favolosa, fa anche la pizza al metro; se scegli anche di mangiare un primo o un secondo che sia di carne o di pesce il risultato è lo stesso: FANTASTICO, la pasta alla boscaiola è stupenda, e vogliamo parlare del pesce spada alla griglia? Mi è capitato di mangiare il pesce spada in altri posti e tutti lo fanno troppo cotto: una tavoletta di legno, invece l'Aquila Reale NO! Il pesce è cotto al punto giusto, rendendolo tenero e gustoso, fetta bella grande, né troppo cotta né crudo servito con un filo d'olio e il limone: che il cliente sceglierà di mettere o no. FANTASTICO! L'Aquila Reale è una esperienza di cucina magnifica e UNICA. Ogni volta, dopo cena, me ne vado Soddisfattissimo. Ve lo Garantisco....

Sinceramente non so quale sia il vostro criterio o paragone di giudizio per considerare buona o approssimativamente commestibile una pizza. Detto ciò trovo veramente poco professionale vendere un prodotto al momento della comanda per poi consegnare dopo un ora al tavolo una pizza dicendo che un prodotto ( olive ) sono finite . Oltre a questo primo intoppo che era evitabile essendo nel pieno week end con anticipatamente presa prenotazioni dell’80% dei tavoli (errore da imprenditori alle prime armi) verrei al giudizio più imbarazzante, forse fino ad ora visto solo in Francia ovvero: “ Una bella pizza con la sottiletta manco sciolta bene sopra”. Se il target dei vostri clienti abituali apprezza questo bel capolavoro mi spiace assai. Piccola parentesi anche poco importante a questo punto. PIOVE...
