Ristorante Balistreri — Restaurant in Trabia

First things first. The view on the balcony is excellent. You get the sun, the breeze and if you are there at sunset, just wow.

Dining was an enjoyable experience overall, however the hall they placed us in felt like a fishbowl with all the locals peering in constantly staring at us. The food was mostly all delicious with some the of the leftovers from the starters being re used as toppings for the main fresh baked Pizzas. Chips on a Pizza - that's a new one, though no less enjoyable. The seafood was excellent and had a lot of flavour. First time trying muscles and these were my favourite thing here!

Service was good. The staff were very attentive and kept the tables topped up with food and drink.

Parking was really easy as the restaurant has a main car park and an overflow car park - and then being Sicily, there is a main road right outside that you can park your car on. You'll find it very convenient to get here as the road to it is just a straight drive from the local town. And you'll enjoy meeting the parking attendant with his whistle, straight face and...

Cannot rate the place worse. Restaurant is on the upper end of the price range for Sicilia mainly because it has a great ocean view. However to get to sit on the balcony you have to book in advance. You will probably receive a plate of complimentary mussels, don't be fooled, it's given to all guests. I ordered the fish which arrived grilled soaking in olive oil. There was no flavour to the fish and when the waiter cleaned the fish I was left with probably 50gms of flesh. Scales still remained however. My bf had the marinara pasta which was mediocre. Only 1 waiter English speaking. Overall overpriced for mediocre food and below...

With many tables right next to the water (though still inside, next to the pier balcony), this is one of the closest spots you can get next to the sea in the area. The service is friendly (and speak English) and helped us with what to order. We got a pasta and a pizza and both were tasty. They also gave us complimentary mussels, which was really nice. Despite the proximity to the water, the vibe felt weirdly uncozy. Maybe it was a little too bright? But it's definitely a solid choice if you're looking for a good meal in the area.
