We were quite early in the restaurant for dinner, so there wasn’t many people, so the staff was doing okay. I asked for sparkling water, we got natural.. it’s not a big deal, but I specifically asked for frizzante. The sea food was great although I would welcome if there was on the menu some kind of sea food mix. Because I wanted calamari and also prawns but I only could choose one. Also again, you must choose side dish separately so you spend more money. I chose grilled vegetables and they brought zucchini and eggplant. I don’t like eggplant so I was kind of sad that the didn’t told me what they were making - I thought there would be more of breeds. We also had Quattro formaggi which I thought was always with cream sauce as a basis but they do it with tomato. It was good, but the once specific cheese was not that good in that combination. Overall it was a nice visit and if we come back to Sicily, I would be more than happy to visit this...
Read moreLe Bistro is perfectly located on the Lunga Mare in Trapetto. Think of it as a good restaurant with a few rooms available occasionally. By the way, they are the only restaurant in town open in the off season. This restaurant quickly became our favorite. This place has been family owned and run for more than 40 years. Giovanni, his wife Sarah and their son Salvatore are wonderful, warm and welcoming. They serve excellent traditional Italian food with an emphasis on seafood. The swordfish fillet is a mere €14. For those who don't want fish (squid, octopus, lobster, urchin, clams ete, etc.) there is beef, and an extensive pizza selection starting at €5. Luigi, the pizzaiolo, has some serious skills with his wood-fired oven. In the seafood selection, We've tried almost everything on the menu. It's all very good. PS there isn't a better way to watch the sunset than sipping something cold at Le Bistro and...
Read moreWe had two experiences here. The first one was worth 5 stars. We got a world class service and the starters we selected were excellent and quite large portions. We had musscle soup and clam soup. The mains were ok, but nothing to write home about. We were taken to their wine cabinet and given really good recommendations etc for the wine.
On the second go, we had a different server and recommendations were off, we tried the shrimp cocktail as a starter and were super dissapointed in that. When asking for wines, we were recommended the house white, which i cannot recommend forward. Just take anything else.
Views are nice, especially during sunset. I guess if you are in trapetto and want to eat out by the sea, this is an ok place as long as you order the right dishes and wines. If you get the right server, it'll be a great plus to...
